AZ Bike Week or Laughlin River Run
« on: December 12, 2018, 10:09:39 AM »
Recently relocated out west [Colorado] and looking to possibly attend either Arizona Bike Week or the Laughlin River Run Rally. Looking for peoples opinions on these events if you have attended in the past.

Thanks.

Both fun...Laughlin River Run is mostly a Harley-type event, AZ Bike Week a little more diverse.  The weather will be "mint" for both events.  Certainly beats shoveling snow in Colorado! :thumb:

Thanks JJ. I don't have the mandatory costume for the H-D crowd [black T, black vest, chaps and a doo-rag] so I guess I'll check out the AZ Bike Week.

You don't need an HD "costume" to go to Laughlin...I'm just saying that is what you will see the most of...

There is a lot more to see and do there by the river.  It's a cool place for a long weekend if you have never been there.  :thumb:

You should go to the Rocky Point Rally in Puerto Penasco, Sonora. Early November with  the usual nonsense at rallys  with cheaper alcohol ,motel rooms and great food.

Arizona bike week isnt what it used to be back when the custom chopper craze was strong. Now I would recommend the river run, as there is more to see and do. The Rocky Point rally is cool, I usually go every year, and have a great time. Beautiful weather for sure at both places in November. You only have to ride one hour ,about 60 miles once you cross the border until you hit the sea of cortez, where the rally is.
The sunsets  down there are incredible, and the  Mexican seafood is delicious, and "Guzzisti cheap". You can eat a whole fried sea bass ( Cabrilla) dinner for about 8 -9 bucks, at a place called Gamas ,where they also serve incredible Margaritas, in  hollowed out pineapples. Great place to have lunch or dinner, overlooking the ocean!   :thumb:
