Wx is perfect, as forecast. Just looking around, I'd say over 250 are here already. Maybe more. This is going to be a good one. ☺

15 min. away would make it easier to camp out.  Lower the risk of DUI.  Eat, drink fall into tent.

The Kid's place is only 100 miles or so from the rally site, so we are some of the first back. It was one of the best ever. Glorious weather, as forecast. 288 (from memory) attended. Also from memory, 16 1/2 kegs from the ever flowing taps. (!) I don't know how many pounds of Wisconsin's finest cheese.  The Wisconsin guys and girls *know* how to put on a rally, and it ran like a well oiled machine.
Thanks!!
Dorcia is still headed this way in the van and has my phone with her. A few pix later.

Unfortunately, I didn't take any pix on the road. Pat from Tennessee came for the first time and was surprised at the nice roads, bucolic scenery, etc.

Ditto to what Chuck said.  Thanks to all the organizers for their hard work.  The turnout rivals what a "National" pulls!  Great seeing a lot of Guzzi pals I've not seen for years.     :boozing:

Thanks to all that put it on!!! My friends KLR650 was out of commission, so I let him "borrow" my 2009 V7 Classic. I may never get that bike back from him. He just turned 36, this was his first rally, and now he wants to go to all of them. Now he understands why I like these bikes so much after a 700 mile weekend trip from Milwaukee to Belmont. All back roads.

I also had no idea that there were a ton of trails between the campground and the highway. A golf cart ride at 1:30 AM Sunday morning was quite fun...sorry if we woke anybody up.
Ken

P.S. Chuck had the quote of the weekend when he saw us drinking beer at 9am Sunday. "You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning", or something like that. I think I just shrugged and finished my beer...

We just got back late yesterday afternoon.  Had a really great time and the weather was absolutely perfect - couldn't ask for better.  I wound up taking my R1100RT so that my girlfriend would be comfortable on Saturday's lunch ride (she drove her car - we camped in style).  Were I to have a riding friend without a bike, I would have loaned them my LeMans III.  I am going to try and bring my LeMans next year as I would have been the only person with an old series LeMans there.  Oh yeah, thanks again to everyone in the Wisconsin club who did all the hard work involved.  A special thanks to Maynard for loaning me his kick stand disk after my RT decided to lay down in the soft grass.

17-1/2 kegs, many pounds of cheese and sausages  :boozing:
281 official count, but at least one more showed up after midnight on Saturday so wasn't counted.

The German Brick Cheese was like no cheese I have smelled or tasted, and with a little luck I will never have to again!!!!   And I truly enjoy a good strong Limburger.

I'm not kidding, it was off the hook wicked bad!    On the other hand, there was bountiful wonderful cheese and sausage available to all both nights.  In my opinion, no body puts on a rally with the magic of the WI crew.  Im not knocking the wonderful work the IL and IA crews do, they are great too, its just WI is outrageous.

Uh, yeah. Dorcia handed me a piece and said it was pretty sharp. Gaaaa! It smelled like I'd been digging in my crack after not showering for a month.  I had a tough time washing the delicate organic aroma off my fingers.  It made Limburger sort of like a mild swiss..  :boozing:

Oh the smell!  Your right Chuck, I had to suffer with the smell on my fingers until I got home Sunday afternoon.  The stuff seemed to hang on like a nasty leech on a mission!

My only wish is that Sergio could have been there to take part in the horror.  He was always so proud of his ability to LOVE Limburger...

I have come to the conclusion many years ago that people who enjoy limburger either have nose problems or that they just enjoy the smell of a rotting sheep carcass, but then that is just my opinion.

Yup, Widmers cheese up in Theresa in Dodge County makes a brick that you can buy from mild all the way through toe jam to a$$crack. Very delicious! Learned it from his Swiss father, and as I understand it, still uses bricks.
As the cheesemaker says, "it develops robust flavor." Robust indeed!

Probably helps to have brown mustard to dip in and a stout to wash it down.
