Let me know how it goes. I am looking for a project this winter and really miss my "T". Only bike I really regret selling.

Ok. Had to give him $2k. Runs. Needs tires and a front brake hose. Well loved bike. Hope the miles aren't too much. Will pick it up Monday. Put a deposit on it to hold.

You unfortunate bastards are stuck with me now. Now need to replenish the LM1 funds.

Do I really need another bike? Not really. No I have room for another bike? Not really. Did that stop me? Not really.

80k miles. As you can tell from the video it probably could use a little fettling of the carbs. And double check all the wiring. It has a Dyna already. Apparently it was ridden all over including Alaska.

How'd I do? Will you guys let me stay now?

10 feet or 10 seconds , which ever comes first ...

 Dusty

So at 80k miles if it had chrome bores they wouldn't have lasted that long?

IMO, there is no such thing as "good" chrome bores. If it has them, I'd replace them as soon as possible. I'd get rid of that Bub sump too...

What's wrong with the sump?

Bub sumps have a long and illustrious history of blowing off oil lines and torching the bottom end. Charlie has said everything you need to know about chrome bores.

Maybe iron bores.  Drop the sump when you change oil and change the line.  Make sure you change out the clamps.  I could be wrong on this but so far I'm okay on my SP1000NT.

Just on this if it's an 850T and has a Bub sump unless the crankcase has been modified it must be one of the later ones as most 850T's were filter less and the case drippings for oil galleries were very different.

So! Either it's a very late T or it's had an engine transplant from a later roundfin. Or! The case has been modified for the later bearing and feeds.

Regardless of which is the case be won't require a 'T' type filterless sump but a later type with the filter plumbing and OPRV assembly and filter mount. I have a couple lying around but I'm sure he can get a cheaper one closer to home.

Yup, that would be ideal. Just make sure you take out the OPRV and clean it thoroughly, ensure its working and clean all the galleries carefully.

Has anyone tried silicone hoses in the Bub sump. Seems like they would withstand the conditions well.

Apparently silicone isn't good for hoses.

The hoses are the more minor of its flaws.

Someone said if the hoses let go you'd lose old pressure. I'd like to here what's more major than that.
