Very sad, for you, Tom.

I don't think there is any rule book for what happens next.  I think as good as a rule is that you will find support here at WG.  Sounds lame when I re-read it, but yes, we will.

Here I am, on a work trip at a bar in a hotel lobby. I'm writing an email to my sister in-law, asking if there is anything of Vicky's that she might want me to bring to Ohio at the end of the month.
Now, I read this.
People are looking at me as I cry on the keyboard.

Not sure why life has to hurt so much.

I truly feel for your loss Tom.

Tom , the only advice I've ever heard that made any sense in this situation was to not do anything drastic , just let yourself heal . Sounds too easy , but it seems to work .

There are two very painful, life altering events.  You're experiencing one of them. I wish I could remove your pain, sadly all I can do is share it.  You're not alone, though it feels like it, we are here for you, anytime, anything you need. Lorraine's and my tear filled, heartfelt condolences.

I met Susi in Germany in 2007 at the big Guzzi rally. We had dates twice a year, two weeks for me in Germany and two weeks for her in Arizona.

6 years ago I asked her to marry me. 5 years ago we got married in Arizona and I moved to Germany. Since we have been together, we've visited Spain (Barcelona ), Portugal,  Austria, Australia and New Zealand , just to name a few. She had an adventurous heart.

What a beautiful courtship you two had.  A rare and wonderful life.  It sure sounds like the brevity of your time together was offset by intensity.   So sorry for your loss.

Judi and I send our condolences.
Best advice I have found concerning grieving is from the book "Ghost Rider" by Neil Pearl (drummer for the band Rush, and avid motorcycle rider). Great book if your a reader.

Good one, Chris.. but Tom, I know it's too early to tell you.. but your *will* get over this. "This, too..shall pass." It will take time. A fair amount of it. Take care of yourself while you are grieving..

Wishing you much peace in this time of loss.

I'm sure there are many here that are appreciating the time they have with their significant others even more as they share your sorrow.

I've seen this happen before. Try do do as many "normal" things as you can, and *take care of yourself* both physically and mentally.  Uh.. the worst is yet to come.. sorry, but it needs to be said. Be prepared for that as much as you can. After all this is over is when it hits you for real. It's *not* going to be an easy road, just take it one turn at a time.
As I've mentioned in other posts, it *will* take time.
Best of luck..
