Not on a Guzzi at the time, but this is how I toured Alaska and Canada back on '07.  Shipped my gear to the dealer in Anchorage and picked the bike up there on June 18.  Put on a little over 5300 miles in 24 days getting back to Dallas.  Camped about half the time.

Isn't the bike supposed to point the other way in that picture?  And your arrowhead is all wrong.    But the load look good!   :thumb:

Wow! What a bunch of weenies. Heading anywhere is a nice start to an adventure, but it should certainly not be the  "trip of a lifetime". You can get a ferry from anywhere to anyplace in Alaska/BC/Washington... by playing the schedule game. I prefer the Cassiar highway to the Alaska. You should think of Alaska as Kansas, plus a lot more riding, then, you will do well. Planning?  Hooey. Just go. I did the Alaska Highway in early December one time and it remains my most memorable and fun trip.   Lee

I'd like to take your weenie ferry from Yakima to Tok via Watson Lake.  Can you show me that on your "anywhere to anyplace" schedule?

When you reach Alaska youll know your not in Kansas! Or anywhere else in North America.
The ferry to Alaska lands you in Alaska for a few miles then your in Canada for the worst roads (Yukon Frost heaves) to Alaska for half a day.

Went looking for Lee Davis in New Mexico, he last posted on this thread in 2018 about dcardo021's upcoming Deadhorse Alaska trip on a Griso ...

... By the bye, as long as someone brought it up, did the Alaska trip ever come off?   Lots of good prep advice on there, Rodekyll almost came across the table about it ....

If people are heading north from the US, don't count on the border being open any time soon. It would be a shame to ride a decent distance only to be turned back.

Well, the thread that I resurrected was an old one from 2018, just trying to see what the followup might have been.

Fay and I had planned a Canadian trip on the bike August 31 - September 10, but that's off now ... we'll head South instead.   I've ridden for 50 years and haven't seen all of the interesting stuff in the state of Virginia yet; I could ride 500 years and never see all the interesting stuff in the United States.

So when you look at it that way, no need to cross a border,  or get on boat or plane to see a lifetime of interesting stuff from the seat of a bike ....

Excellent...lots of great Youtube videos of folks who have done the same, always entertaining to see their adventures.

Which bike are you planning to take on the trip?   :thumb: :thumb:
