Title: V7 III- 2 Different Crankshafts/Con Rods
Post by: Dirk_S on March 30, 2023, 06:17:28 PM
I’ve already sent enquiries out to some dealers, but seeing how most of them prefer not to play around with small blocks, I thought I’d also ask here:

The early V7 III uses removable connecting rods. The later IIIs go to a pressed fit style crankshaft with a two-headed, non-removable connecting rod. Are these crankshafts and their related con rods interchangeable?

I hadn't heard this. I thought from what I have read here I thought the V7 850 was the first one with the pressed crank. If later lll's had a pressed crank do you know where the change over takes place VIN or date of manufacture wise?

Look in parts books & match up part #'s, If they interchange it'll be same block 1/2's. Same w/cyl's & pistons.
