Rosso Corsa
« on: March 20, 2023, 10:46:38 AM »
I have no association with the owner or poster over at MGNO but if its legit would a true enthusiast please purchase this Rosso Corsa.
Truly wonderful and rare machines to own and ride. This one appears to have the very expensive and hard to come by high mount Ti-Racing exhaust system as well.
Wishing the present owner luck with sale and hoping they wont suffer from sellers remorse ( I know I would )
Please advise.

Ciao

Sorry I sold mine but I'm not going to revisit that experience though it was an extremely trouble free MG.

I don’t think the market now will support the asking price. $8500.

Might be Fishers, Indiana. I saw one at the Indy Duck dealer one time. It was in for an oil change.. no idea who owned it.

So....was it a “positive” owner experience, or something else?

He did the same with that first G5 I had.

This is Josh, Chuck. You met him a few times. His wife Steph rides a V7, they make it to our lunches occasionally. I don't think he was a buyer then. This particular affliction has developed more recently for him. It was Dave's Tenni that acted as a carrier and spread the virus.

I hope you learned from the Mighty Scura to let me broker your sales. Call me Yente. (matchmaker from Fiddler on the roof)

The 2003 Rosso Corsa and 2004 Nero Corsa were some of the best Guzzis ever made.  Very competent SPORT-touring machines.

Very well sorted from the factory, the only niggles being the ITI Speedometer with the failure prone odometer, and the random chance of a failed shifter return spring.

If the low miles are documented, and not a replaced speedometer, and if it's in as good a condition as it appears, the bike should garner top dollar.  Though I agree that $8500 may be optimistic in the current market, these bikes are very rare and desirable to those on the sporty side of the Guzzi spectrum.

Yes it was, the clock did go bad and Greg Field fixed it but other than that I had no other problems with the bike. The cross over leaked and I installed some fittings by MPH but they eventually leaked again then I sold the bike because I bought the Daytona.

On the right venue, this should easily attain $8500, and maybe more. IIWM, I’d submit it to Bring A Trailer, with a slew of photos, highlight any flaws and let the bidding flow.

That is a very nice motorbike.

Deb and I left early because we had just found out my life’s best friend had been killed on his EV in St.Joseph by a cell fone idiot with no insurance. So since our brains were mush and it was raining, we pulled out as the line for dinner was forming. I did have the foresight to get a rain ticket from the camp ground. I probly still have it somewhere.

Will do, Yente.  As Rocker said, the Rosso and Nero were well sorted, and IMHO the last and best *real* Guzzi. After I brought the Mighty Scura back from California, I didn't need two V11 Sports. Josh would have been a better keeper.. (shrug)

Yeah, I remember you making it out of there....left my drowned '02 Wing there and zoom-zoom left his drowned EV .  Always an adventure.  At least none of us perished. :thumb:

Hey Fotoguzzi, thanks for posting the great pics, I enjoyed looking at them.

$8500 may seem like alot for a Rosso Corsa unless you want one....still less expensive than a new bike with "girly man gadgets".

I was the last one out of there on a motorcycle.  2 days after the flood.  Matt from NM Rep.  pulled the emissions crap off.  We did 3 engine oil changes and 2 trans/rear end oil changes.  Last words of advice.  "Get it hot!"

I love that Rosso Corsa.  A truly unique and rare motorcycle.  It wouldn't make sense for me to have the RC and my plain vanilla edition V11S.  I can't imagine the riding experience is that much different.  So it will remain the V11S.

Went an took a look at this RC last night. Absolutely pristine. Won’t be seeing the light of day however. Sale to a west coast collector concluded shortly before our arrival. Owner was a prior acquaintance and has owned other Guzzi’s and already had another in his sights.

New owner has assembled the entire array of Spines evidently, this was the missing piece. Seems a shame, but hey, you work hard for your money, who amy I to comment. I imagine the MGNOC listing will be down shortly.
