Chicago is special.  Practically its own country.  And, unfortunately, a pretty dangerous one...

Muskogee has a higher crime rate than Chicago , and I think Lawton OK does also , or it did historically .

I'll pass on either.  My town is 1.2 murders per 100,000 and an index of 341.3

The stats here bounce up and down here , some years are fairly low , 2014 was fairly low .

There used to be a little ditty hanging on the wall in the father-in-law's toilet....

Here lies the body of Jonny O'Day
Who died maintaining his right of way
His way was right
His will was strong
But he's just as dead
As if he was wrong.

There are certain unwritten rules of the road. One I live by....." The largest vehicle has the right-of-way". Pedestrians are near the bottom of the "right-of-way" food chain and freight trains are near the top.

Looks like the car driver never had the benefit of a disciplined life.  He might with prison time looming on his horizon.  He might get probation.  Eventually he'll get penalties.  Right now he doesn't follow the rules.  He will when he eventually does do time.  He'll either get tougher or find out he's not as tough as he thinks he is.  Jail doesn't impress him maybe prison will.

Interestingly , we just had an incident here yesterday where a driver of a large PU intentionally rammed a Nissan Sentra from behind and caused the car to crash into a guard rail . The car was passing another vehicle on a 4 lane road , and apparently the PU driver was unhappy about the rate at which the pass was being executed . Luckily the driver of the car being passed filmed the incident, and the po po have the video to go by in finding the PU driver .

I mention this incident , because the local paper interviewed a state trooper investigating the accident , and he gave some truly salient advice . "Most of the time it's not a personal issue with you,it's merely that the other driver is upset about something , you mean nothing to them other than being in their way" .

Today in Wichita a driver intentionally blew a stop sign ramming a PU in the Rt side. PU had two kids and two adults. Minor injuries only. Driver left the scene but was later found and arrested. Driver said he was upset over a a quick loan place not giving him enough money against his vehicle title so just took the PU out at random.
Too many nuts that are loose on the bolt out there.
