I'm very keen to see one in person. No US versions seen in the flesh yet (all pics are the Euro version). Thing is, I don't need two CB1100's.

The one coming to the US is only slightly changed from the past version?  Why bring only the plane Jane version, it needs something more in the looks department.  I like the sporty version, but in their wisdom, it's not coming to the US?

If it's priced anything like the previous generation, the dealers are going to have a lot of leftovers.  There are just so many other bikes I'd rather have in that price range.

Honda will always be associated with 4 cylinder motorbikes . No , they didn't invent the transverse 4 layout , but they did popularize the concept . I wonder if their marketing department pushes for the production of the retro CB because NOTHING says Honda like this bike . Very recognizable .

i really liked that  bike from day 1  for it's looks too, but the 12k msrp was a little strong for a naked bike IMO.  seen several dealers with leftovers advertising them for 7000-7900 which makes it a much more attractive package.

Sure does remind me of the old CB750. AND yeah, I want four mufflers.

Now if one could get a Vetter for the CB1100!

No tank seems! Looks beautiful, but the weight is holding me back.

Honda please make a CB800 at 450lbs?

its nice looking  , but i think a used Suzuki Bandit 1200 in good nick is a better choice in an inline four ...proven engine ,huge midrange power and probably better handling   :whip2:

A couple guys on the CB1100 forum have mounted Vetters. One fellow put his Don Vesco Rabid Transit fairing on his. Oh man, to die for!!

A couple after market folks offer up four into fours. Last year a local fellow showed up at coffee with one of them. Sounded very very nice. Since most folks ditched the four into fours for four into ones I think they decided to just skip the mod step and offer up the four into one right off the bat (with the 2014 and 2017 models offering the four into two - which I like the looks of due to symmetry but owning the 2012 with four into one, the 4-1 is much easier to live with in practice; less crap to deal with when it comes to tire changes, chain adjustment etc.).

My main nit-pik: The rear turn signals need to be with the tail light so they don't need to be moved when you put on luggage. Very annoying.

Don't know how to compare them, never rode a CB1100.  The styling cues are all different.  Bandit has no intention of being retro anything.  Modern UJM tuned for midrange.  Love it.

Why does the side cover being gray bother me so? Been seeing that a lot lately, is it hip to have the side cover a different color then the rest of the bike?

That drove me to buy 2014 sidecovers so my carpet matched the drapes. Not a believer in contrasting sidecovers.

It`s always about money, painting the side covers one color makes manufacturing cost less and it also costs also to keep inventory.

We talk about bikes having soul.  That video showed that the CB1100 has Honda's version of soul, which doesn't seem all bad.  When Freddie is making a pass, the bike sounds like a video of my long gone K1200RS making a high rpm pass around my riding buddy's sidecar (SP1000/Hedingham car.)  A good friend's wife was riding in the side car and videoing as I passed.  The K's 4 cylinder sounded a lot like Freddie's CB1100.  I could probably do another 4 cylinder bike.

BTW - thanks for posting the video.

Looking at those spokes makes me think it has tubed tires, though.  I'm not a fan of owning tubed tires.

I  like the look of the silver and black engine , especially the black barrels... it is an attractive motorcycle for sure and although it has a retro look it still has a new fresh take on it. Its a bit disappointing that its not tubeless and i would think at the asking price it should be , and in reality its not difficult to produce a spoked  wheel that is tubeless economically.
I was raised on inline fours Kawasaki and Suzuki mostly , they were always reliable, powerful and fun to ride machines, when we talk about soul i think a four has it as much as any other bike , you just have to look a little deeper for it .
Love my Griso to ride and look at the most , but a inline four is a nice compliment to it to have as well in the garage ..
