I also am keen on this bike. I've only had two 4-cylinder motorcycles; one was a 1981 Honda CB-750F. After I was able to repack it's Vance & Hines 4 into 1 and tone it down a little, it really had a great sound. Like a formula one racecar sound...and lots of revs. As stated above, these fours have a panache all their own. An unadorned standard is preferred by me to a fully faired sport bike. Fun and versatile...

A vintage shot of me and my 750F below (note the early model BMW flip helmet):

The RS is real nice, but in terms on the EX, I'd take the 2014 version instead.

For a back-up bike in the garage for the ol' Guzzi, one will be hard pressed (IMHO) find a more reliable, capable and FUN "UJM" (Universal Japanese Motorcycle), than this model.  :1:

Thumbs up all around.  Would LOVE to own one!!

The link in the OP's original post seems broken, but all the pix since are pretty cool.

If I won PowerBall (which I don't think I've ever even played ), I'd have one of those or the T120 in the Moto Grappa.

Heck, if I won PB, suppose I could have both.

Seriously, my brother is probably getting a T120, and he might let me ride it now and then, thus, tho an unabashed Euromotophile, I really like that Honda.

Great looking bike. I've seen the 2013 version up close and it is stunning in terms of detail. No chromed plastic here- it's all the real deal.

I think it looks beautiful - it's the weight that puts me off. Nor when riding, but handling it in the garage and on the (gravel) drive - light is good, I'm afraid.

I'm torn: on the one-hand, it's a beautiful, well-built, super-reliable, comfortable, and fun to ride motorcycle. But on the other hand, (in pictures at least) it doesn't exactly ring all my chimes, which is weird because look at it! It's gorgeous! Yikes. I'd have to change the exhaust. There's a nice-sounding 4 to 4 unit from Austrailia for about $2K. Yikes again. And what else? Yeah, that's kinda it.

Question to any Honda owners or enthusiasts, I'm reading a lot of criticism about its weight (about 550 wet) and issues with manuverability second to that. Is that the biggest complaint? And around here there's a few who don't want to go the inner tube route. I get that. It's not a deal-breaker though. I've read critics who complain that it's too "Honda perfect" and remark that engineers made the engine less refined, on purpose, to emulate past cb's. That sounds like a pretty good problem to have though.

It is lighter on its' feet than the Griso and better in the tight twisty bits and in town. Pushing it around my patio she feels as heavy as the Griso.

I put on SW Motech case savers (black, they really blend in and look factory). I laid it down on the grass in my backyard to see how tough it was to pick up. Roll the bike up so she is resting on the case savers and tires. Adjust your grip and the bike will pop right up. I did it with a broken collar bone and a bad back. Well, it's a fragile back, I can abuse it a bit - like lifting up bikes that take naps. My Honda XR650L with a full tank (after market 5.8gallon beast) is harder to get upright than the CB.

But things like this; it really depends upon each person.

Some think she is easy to put on the center stand, other folks (like me) consider it very doable. Meh.

Visually the 2013 CB (my bike) was very arresting, but what set the hook, the sales man started it up and gave it some raps. An angry in line four has a very cool sound to it. Naturally, it is very hard to hear on the road - but I'm a firm member in the "Quieter is better" club. Less fatigue.

Nice to have a big single, a big V-Twin and an inline 4. They each bring something  to the table.

If my drive wasn't gravel, and I didn't have a bit of an uphill push...I would. I'm sure I could pick it up if I dropped it, it's just the hassle of wrestling it around (I did do this at the Honda dealership). Still, a beautiful looking bike.

A very important point to add: the CB1100 forum is very friendly, with knowledgeable people..almost as good as this one!

Why does the side cover being gray bother me so? Been seeing that a lot lately, is it hip to have the side cover a different color then the rest of the bike?

Just found this out, those covers are silver because they are real brush alumimum units.

Sure does remind me of the old CB750. AND yeah, I want four mufflers.

Now if one could get a Vetter for the CB1100!

You could turn something that is simply bland and inoffensive in appearance into something genuinely hideous.
