Some pics from Rocky Mountain National Park

And did you know a Sport 1100 can scale mountains? It’s true.

And jump stumps?!

I decided against jumping the gorge.

And finally, we hiked a couple miles of snow packed trails.

Got up this morning to SNOW! in May! Fortunately Colorado is a lot better prepared for it than GA. I don’t think anyone even noticed it was snowing.

Some snowy views

No. I thought it would be a cool way to make sure there’s “Guzzi content” in every post. However, as it turns out I’m getting a kick out of including the bike in shots where possible. The model was basically donated to me by a member and it’s as close as I’ll get to having an actual greenie for a few years! I’m taking care not to put it in too much of a risky shot.

Thanks Dusty. I’m sure I speak for many here when I say that she is truly my better half and also the one who encouraged me to get my Guzzi “if it’s what you really want”.

So we stayed a night in Gunnison Colorado. Colorado DOT is doing major roadwork on Hwy 50, so the clerk at the hotel told us of the way around via hwy 92. What a gem!!! Got lots of pictures of the black canyon of the Gunnison River. Definitely recommend. Especially if you’re good to hike several miles.

Pics from the Bay of Chickens. With a name like that you know I had to stop!

I also had to take a dam picture with a dam Guzzi!

Now for a huge dump of pics.

Taken from overlooks along Highway 92

These are taken on the hike to exclamation point overlook on the north edge of the Black Canyon

And these are taken along the north edge road. It has several overlooks.

So Day 5 found us touring Mesa Verde national park. It was gorgeous.

We stayed at the retro motel in Cortez CO. A slightly refurbished roadside motel built back in the day when Route 66 was a thing.

The tour of Mesa Verde was very enjoyable. Would have been even better on two wheels!

Imagine how much more tough we’d all be if we had to climb these stairs every day!

But you have messed me up for life. I'm trying to spot the bike in all the pics :boozing: :whip2:

Okay. Sorry for the delay. Got home got busier than a one legged man in a kicking contest!

So here are a bunch of pics from the Durango to Silverton train. If you’re ever in the area it’s a must do imho!

Here are pics from the start of the trip.

And here are pics from the middle part that overlooks the animas river gorge.

And then the turn around area in Cascade falls and the ride back. The route to Silverton was not open yet due to snowdrifts.

And finally, a novel use for a dilapidated camper. This was at the B&B we stayed at in Durango.

Here are the pics from our last days in Colorado. We drove back to Denver on Friday. Out flight out was on Saturday. I figured we could just sightsee around Denver. But Saturday after checking out I noticed my bride was somewhat disgruntled. Turns out she really does not like being in big cities around lots of people. So we went off roading in the rental Jeep!
