Identifying and stripping silencers?
« on: April 14, 2024, 08:42:51 AM »
I got an extra pair of silencers with my V50 project. They say "Moto Guzzi S27" which turns up nothing on google. Any ideas where they came from? They're 2x as heavy as the Silentiums.

The Silentiums have what I thought was a flaking chrome problem, revealing the black underneath, but what they really have is a flaking black problem, revealing the chrome underneath   Is there  a chemical way to remove the paint that won't also remove the chrome? I have a feeling it's not the best chrome.

thanks,
jim

I dont think your chrome plating is any good. There is quite a bit of rust that I can see. If those were mine, I would sand blast them to bare metal, and paint them with high heat paint, or have them ceramic coated.
