Title: The Simple Things.
Post by: blackcat on February 15, 2015, 02:24:40 PM
I have been casually chasing a minor leak on the CX, like it would leave a spot of oil about the size of a dime or less after a ride. Oil was showing up on the sides of the sump spacer and of course showing up at the drain hole between the engine and transmission. I of course did the usual things but nothing changed. The engine was recently rebuilt about a year ago and I sealed the cam plug, etc. but of course you wonder. Anyway, I noticed today that there was a small trail of oil around the dipstick. Hmmm.....

So I removed the dipstick from the 1000S and spotted(CX-left;1000S-right) the difference and a ride similar to others resulted in no oil. All I need is a rubber gasket for the dipstick.  8) Way better than pulling the engine for a look at the rear main seal.
