Yellow and Black CX100 still missing
« on: March 29, 2023, 11:31:34 AM »
Just checking the collective for information to solve a mystery.

In 1997 my ex wife wanted a respray on her red CX100, she chose Porsche yellow with black, and we had the insets on the side covers painted black...they looked like shark gills. We took it to the Smokies for the 1997 BMW national rally where it was stolen from our motel parking lot, thank god they left my V7 Sport which I later lost in the divorce.

I reported the theft, and for the next month or so, the bike was seen around Townsend, TN but then nothing. Yes I have the police report and yes I still have the title, but at this point Im just looking to see if she surfaces. If somebody purchased a CX100 with no title, in rough shape, and spent time and money, Im not going to just demand the return. I understand how it happens and its been 25+ years. Id just like to know what became of her.

Funny but I still check the vin of CX LeMans at shows and rallies if I can. I suspect she is rusting away in the bottom of a TN ravine, and that's way worse.

It might be helpful to know the VIN on the bike you're looking for...

That’s during the time I was living in that area and into bikes heavy enough to wreck another marriage, but never had any knowledge of a Guzzi fitting that description in the area.  I’ll ask some friends there, just in case anyone has crossed paths with your old bike.

Interesting story.  I would rather live in a loveless marriage than lose a bike in a divorce.

Hope she lost the V7 in a later divorce.
