Hhhmm...sounds like Tucumcari is about equidistant between the two locations...not a bad idea at all!

"This train will stop at Tucumcari...." ...name the movie! :thumb: :thumb:

Cedar Vale to Tucumcari is about 535 miles one way...(9+ hours driving time...)

Cottonwood to Tucumcari is about 564 miles one way...

Might be worth investigating for a "joint" N.A.R.  the first weekend in May 2018 - - ??????  :1:

I was thinking how cool it would be to get the 65 Cedar Vale attendees and our 30+ Cottonwood attendees and meet somewhere in between Cottonwood and Cedar Vale for a huge "joint" N.A.R. in 2018? :boozing: :1: :thumb:

Unfortunately we have an agreement with the town of Cedar Vale for the next couple of years to have the rally there . We are in negotiations for some improvements to the park to make it even better , and those things cost money . The support and involvement of the Mayor and the COC in the very small town is why we can have the event . There will probably be some news re the event sometime over the next couple of months .

I just had to throw it out there...being of the Clint Eastwood genre of films...and the name is too cool...but no doubt, the higher elevations are more appealing for riding...

Actually they do have a pretty decent museum as well (since we are now including Museum visits in our NAR's/Rally's)...

That's a beautiful ride in Sept. to that area of CO.  Dave Awdish lives near there and invited us all up this year! :thumb: :1:

I had a great time in Cottonwood, meeting everyone and seeing all the bikes. I spent Saturday in Jerome, in the museums and seeing the town, plus a ride over Mingus Mountain toward Prescott.
It was 97 when I got there Friday afternoon. I was glad that it cooled off.

Come see us in Ouray, Colorado in August. Info here:

redhawk - Nice meeting you and thanks for riding out to Cottonwood! :thumb: :1:

NOTE:  Your thread actually says SEPTEMBER (see here!) not August....

The next big ride for us Arizona Guzzisti is the third weekend in August to the New Mexico State Rally in scenic Datil, near the Continental Divide.

Yes, it is September for Ouray.
I probably will be at Datil unless I get a slot on one of the scientific crews for the total eclipse, probably in WY or NB.
