Are these things serviceable?

Would like to know if they can be dismantled/cleaned to any real effect.
Pete gave me a new one which is perfect, but I don't want to pitch this one out. It's sticking a bit as a result of my over rich mixture gumming it up.

the plastic stepper motor and the plunger looks like this, it looks it can be detached from the aluminium housing by a twist

I replaced mine with a new plastic one a couple of years back and it looks like this one is sticky now - GRRRRRRR

I disassembled the old original one and it came out as a pile of scrap. However I stupidly threw the body so I don't know whether Phangs spot would fit

And the plan with a suitable plug is to stroke the damn thing back and forth off the bike and with copious amounts of carb cleaner and compressed air see if I can get it un-sticky

My theory is that its not the motor itself that's the issue but the gear drive so if I can stroke it a bunch of times and clean/lube it I might get a solution

If it works you can either post me your old one and I'll give it a coat of stroking and cleaning and post it back or I'll post you the PATENTED CARC ICV STROKER and you can send it back when you're finished

 Technically almost everything is serviceable , just depends on how stubborn you are , and if spending a buck to save 50 cents is a good idea  .

A good read. The first 90,000 were spent on a too rich mixture which I'm informed will possibly have contributed to some contamination but Pete gave me a clean one.
I've put 30,000 on it so with the new map and Roperising, it should be as clean as a birds bum !

Seriously though I have a sticky ICV and am trying to avoid spending £350 to replace it .... again

So I'm reading everything I can find to see if a clever individual has cracked the issue.  Not found it yet 

Still my stepper controller finally arrived yesterday so maybe I'll be able to make some progress.

If this doesn't help me fix it I'll take the £350 (plus what I'll save NOT fixing the clocks) and Microsquirt the bike

If I didnt like the bike as much as I do I would be wasting my time and money on it.

OK BC - why did you disconnect it?

Was it messing about?

What did you do with the pipe work?

Is it still plugged into the loom?

I ask as its one of the options I'm evaluating to save the 350 GBP mine will cost to replace if i can't fix this one

I got tired of the weird engine racing when it got hot, so I just plugged the lines and kept the wiring in place. Yeah, when it gets cold outside I have to warm up the engine and while that can be a pain when it's really cold it hasn't been much of a problem after a couple minutes of riding. There maybe another reason to keep the thing but it hasn't been a problem for my 07 Norge and I certainly wouldn't spend that kind of money without trying a disconnect, as it isn't that difficult to do.
