anyone selling a Breva 750?
« on: May 15, 2015, 02:08:59 PM »
Maybe quicker than trying to put a transmission in mine.
Doesn't have to be pretty, just a good strong driveline.

There's another one on that same page that says: "Parting out 2004 Breva 750".  It says that the engine is fried but everything else is okay.  The ad is highlighted with an orange background/black type.

Now that I fully disassembled the Breva, not sure I really want to deal with a small block again. Just a mess of cramming things togther, complicated just to remove a rear wheel, etc. I guess I will junk my Breva and use my T for trips.

On the 750 Breva it's best to take the rear tire/bevel box off/on as 1 unit.  ;D

Yep, the newer bikes are harder and more complicated to work on compared to the `70s-`80s bikes.  They call it "progress."  Each year it get's worse.  :D  :'(   That's why I've had enough of newer bikes.    Actually the Fed. Govt.s can be blamed for this evolution, FWIW.

My Wife hasn't ridden hers in 5 years.  Would you be interested in an '04 with like 10K Miles on it?  If so I'll ask her.  Knowing her she'll want what it is worth though..  just sayin..  PM me if yur interested.  The bike is in Sioux Falls, I happen to be in Minneapolis..
Hell, she might even sell the folding trailer with it so you could get it home.

Sorry to hear you say that, JB.   Don't know how many miles your used baby Breva has on it but what happened to you is NOT typical.  I've ridden my used 750 Breva 1 & 2up for 48K miles now and until recently it has been bulletproof.  Right now it's @ a dealer due to an odd issue.  Even they are having trouble figuring it out on their computer hookup, where everything looks good.   Makes me feel a little bit better why I couldn't figure it out.  :)  I have other bikes/scooters to ride in the meantime.    If I wasn't enamored with maxi-scooters now I'd buy another maintained 750 Breva in a heartbeat.

Must admit J.B. that when the situation came and I was confronted with the 'shall I chrome it and sell it" I found I couldn't.  I find the Breva is just such a lovely ride I ended up fixing it.

I have to agree, riding the baby Breva is more fun than a greased monkey. Unfortunately swmbo thinks I ride hers too fast so I don't get to play with it much. 😢

I suppose it's progress, but the old small blocks are much simpler to work on.. don't even have to pull the rear caliper to R&R the wheel.
