My 2003 Breva just sings at 5000rpm/80mph.  This is 20mph above our limit :police: :police: :police:.  On a trip I force myself to sit behind a cage doing the speed limit because the machine goes to 5000rpm all by itself! I swear it's true. I drop it down to 4000,  and the next time I look it's back to 5000 again.  I just pass the cage when I see a set of twisties coming.

I haven't done 500 miles at one sitting, but I have done 400.  With a sheepskin on the seat it is beautifully comfortable.  Of course, we don't have too many long straight roads here in NZ;  on the 400 mile burst I did suffer from clutch fingers and throttle wrist. :thumb:

Yes the V7 can handle doing 500, 1000 or 2000 miles a day. Heck you could ride a 50cc scooter or a bicycle 500 miles in a day if that what you were determined to do.

Wild Bill Guzzi politely asked if the V-7 would run 80 and do 500 mile days. I politely replied with evidence that my girlfriend has done it on many occasions. Would a Goldwing be more comfortable? Maybe, but it is too heavy and too expensive.

I don't know why you had make a malicious reply to these posts. Even grimalkins can be nice .

I agree that 70 is a good speed to hone in on for a long haul on the sb's.  Anything greater for me and it seems to feel small for the job.  Give me my V11 Lemans at that point.

Me too...

And I LOVE my SB FWIW.

I'm thinking on buying the 2016 special.  The red one, red goes faster.  Why not a Goldwing?  I like guzzi's it's not all about comfort, it's a Guzzi thing

Followed me home today.  I haven't seen or read about any VII Specials in the US, but I got one.  MG's US website doesn't even have them.  The dealer had trouble finding the MSRP and finally just took the price off a magazine review.

Sweet!

Looks great!  Can't wait to see how you like it compared to your previous Racer.

That was a big motivating factor for me to buy one.

In my opinion the V7 is the closest thing on the market to what the airhead might have become if BMW had simply continued it's production with only minor evolution to the chassis and simply putting EFI on the motor.

Of course, I do believe the motor has a bit more character then my airheads did, which is not a bad bonus either.

I currently have a V7, and a few airheads.   Kev's comments are spot-on.   Oh, and the V7's brakes are better.
