V7 Oil Change?
« on: October 03, 2017, 07:22:43 PM »
Looks like a 2016-18 V7 is in the works and being an oil change fanatic have started researching.
The online videos seem to show a front, back and bottom bolt for the engine oil with the oil filter on the bottom.  The drive shaft has one in back, bottom and top?  And then is there a separate transmission oil?
Is there a good video or tutorial to be directed to?
     Thanks.

Cory,

Go to the Yahoo V7 group, and look under their Links and Files pages.  They have a section titled "Repair and Maintenance" which is a collection of tips and guides.  https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/MG_750/info

Myself, I made a guide for transmission oil change on the "old" pre-13 bikes:  https://www.flickr.com/photos/sign216/albums/72157626993357143

Transmission oil change is the same on the FIRST GENERATION 5-SPEED single throttle body V7 models (~2013-15) as it is on earlier smallblocks like the V7C.

HOWEVER DO NOT - I REPEAT DO NOT - expect the same method or capacity on the V7 II and V7 III transmissions with the 6-speed. Different animal, different capacities, slightly different procedure.

That is all.

Cory, BTW, when you pick up a bike, you're local(ish). I'm across the bridges in Medford, NJ (on the edge of the pinelands). When the time comes, if you want a hand with a service the first time you can feel free to come out this way and throw your bike up on my bike lift some time.

Thanks a ton.  Really appreciated and, on a side note, my wife and I's favorite restaurant used to be in Medford.  I forget what it was, but closed a few years ago.  It was the one that used to be across from the bowling alley and then moved to near where TD Bank is in a much larger building.  I think NJ taxes may have done them in if I remember correctly.

Only been here a little over three years now, but the place across from the bowling alley is called Otts. They added a nice outdoor bar and eating area since we've been here. It's ok, but nothing special.

Hmm TD Bank. There are two.

The one on Stokes just beyond the Otts/Bowling alley. That is between the Rustic Grille and a new Starbucks.

The one on Tuckerton is across from a shopping center with a nice family owned Italian place Illiano Cucina, and a typical Chinese place called Fortune Cookie.

But I'm assuming you are talking about something else we missed.

There are lots of restaurants around here, but none I'd brag about, except maybe our local Asian/Sushi place which surprisingly is called Vincent's. Who knew. [emoji15]

It was called Izzie's and really was spectacular and very casual.  The one that kind of took it's place is Zinc; if it's still there as well.

Ah same side of the street as the bowling alley. Yeah, Zinc Cafe is still there.
