Title: Need pics for website. Show off your bike.
Post by: Curtis Harper on January 12, 2015, 12:23:46 PM
Here I go again asking for you guys' help building up the website. Since The fellow that was doing our site is no longer in our employ, it comes back to me to try to make things more user friendly. And I am rapidly gaining on it I think. We are changing the way to get to out parts lookup, or on-line parts microfiche. When finished I am going to need an image representing each model of Guzzi from then until now. The image will be used for reference to the parts look up, so someone who may not quite be sure of the bike has something to look at. Such as the page linked below to the V700 fiche. (Don't know whose bike that is but if it's yours let me know and I will put credits on it.)

http://www.harpermoto.com/index.php?dispatch=categories.search&cid=&make_id=1

So if you have a pretty original guzzi and would like a chance for it to be shown on the site send me a pic to curtis@harpermoto.com. Once finished each pic will have to owners name attached to it. Need one bike for each model.

Thanks again for helping us help you.

I think this is a great idea, I would like to add something.. and I'm sure you guys are working on this - Please add photos of the parts in your inventory. Most things I search for on your site say image coming soon and there is no description of the part (what it fits, some minor details, etc) - For someone like me just now learning the many variations of each part between years and models, it's critical for me to actually see that part - Of course there is a phone and I can call in (as I have, and you/staff have always been very helpful) but I do most of my parts purchasing (and dreaming of what to get and when) at times when I can't make calls, so I rely mostly on the visual representations and descriptions.

I hope the input helps, and I just wanted to thank you and all the other guys out there working hard gathering parts and keeping our bikes running and looking great.

We are constantly working on pics for sure. Right now it is a bit slow as our offices are being rebuilt and I have had to send Mike and Alice to home to work and Robert and I are trying to work from this shipping room. It's fun, but we're still moving forward. I am hoping to hire another full timer in the spring to just inventory and post pics. Thanks for all the pics of the bikes, I have had many emails with some really nice bikes.

Maybe I should have a "Special Creation" parts page?

My 1984 California II (long seat) when just a few days owned--bone stock (with the exception of the mirror, which Guzzi did not deliver in the crate with the bike).

Yeah, since it wears those old mufflers you dug out of the trailers :)

Creation is right too, maybe not special though.  :D
