I just got off the phone w/the caterer for the rally. She says she'll need a final count of the meals needed by June 17th. I know life's a bitch sometimes & we can't commit to a weekend until the last minute, but If you are considering coming please let me know before the 17th. I'd rather have a little extra food than have a late arrival go without. The key words are "a little" We are cutting "close to the bone" on our pricing to keep the rally affordable. The rally has always paid for itself & we are counting on our 34th to be no different. Retired & on fixed incomes we're less able to absorb out-of-pocket expenses than when Alice & I did the rallies 1999-2007.

Ron,
I can understand your plight.
This is such a great rally I hate to see it end. But as I see it, we have about 3 alternatives:
1. We could talk someone into doing all that you do
2. form a Rally Committee and ask for volunteers to help or
3. Anyone who wants to camp out just show up on a specific date that could be discussed on this site. You'd have to pay individually for the nights you camp. (We'd have to ask Will how he accepts payment.)
And the fact that I'm having to write all these alternatives, just underlines our need for something to be organized. Doesn't have to include dues or funny hats or a secret handshake, just an agreement to get organized and go from there. Your thoughts?

PS: I am not a member of MGNOC, Frank and I differ on the description of a CLUB.

This will be my 3rd or 4th VA rally and I'm really looking forward to the weekend. I really appreciate the efforts that Ron and Alice have put into each one of them and there's no way the risk of a loss on their efforts should be placed on them. I'm certain the folks attending won't let that happen.
Dean, Mark has always used your No. 3 for the Blue Ridge rally with great results. So has Wayne with the GA camp out. The key difference is that Cruso and TWS have cash food options where Willville, and previously Glen Maury do not. I know I really like Willville as a venue but if the rally is going to be more automatic then another spot will need to be identified.
Otherwise we need to look at Nos. 1 and 2, and I will be happy to help for next year's rally. Even though I'm a couple of states away I'm probably as close as many living in VA.
