Title: The French Collection Connection

While in France this past month my wife and I found a very interesting private museum in a suburb of Beaune; Savingny-les-Beaune. Nestled into an aristocrats estate spread out inside two chateau and among the vineyard is an impresive collection of motorcycles, race cars, fire engines, farm equipment and jet fighters, eclectic does not begin the describe the collection. The French aristocrat raced the Abarth cars, Norton and Vincent motorcycles as well as the unique Tiger race bikes.The aristocrat is alive and lives inside one of the chateaus.

I kind of wonder what the original builder would think if he saw all those bikes cluttering up his elegant rooms?

AS a lover of all things rare and odd, with a special predilection for french bicycles, I have always wished there were some French motos to be seen and ridden...  Thanks for sharing, lots of cool stuff!

Dunno, there was not a single Moto Guzzi in the collection but a lot of French bikes I have never seen.

In the forecourt of the main chalet are parked three modern fighters, I think this one is a F-16?? beside it is what I think is a Tornado, the third one was what I think is a jet trainer

Can't seem to quote with my phone for some reason, but in response to Moto's question, I think it's a Benelli Monoalbero 500cc. Albero likely means crankshaft, so single crankshaft I guess.. maybe it's not it, not 100% sure, but the forks look a lot like it.

This is the Benelli, in a photo from the page you cited:

It's similar to the Guzzi design, but the  Monalbero Sport's motor, as seen in other photos on the internet, has a large overhead camshaft drive on the right side that is missing in the one Canuck saw in the museum:

Still, that's a revelation to see the stylistic similarity of the Benelli and the Guzzi at that time. Thanks for the suggestion.

Wow, eclectic and eccentric, I guess I'm out of the loop with how these things work, I'm surprised but impressed that if you set your mind to it, you can buy yourself your own F16!

Just the building alone, from the style and apparent construction methods, how many centuries old was that castle/fortress?

I've never been to Europe, but time and history, seem to take on a whole new concept. It must have been a powerful experience to tour through that many different areas.
