My first attempt since Photobucket got all greedy about my money (Guzzi content). Hey, it worked! I can see it, anyhow... also has factory Aprilia-made hard bags, I'll find a decent shot.

I really hope to make it this year. Its a long ride for me, Im thinking it will take two days. Im up in upstate NY near the mass boarder. Anyone make the haul from new England? A lot comes down to my situation in spring.. 2 years ago I quit my job of 25 years to care for my MIL with alizhimers. Things are winding down, and getting to a level I cant tend any more. Depending how fate deals the deck, Im will be looking for a few days away after 2 years of being on the clock 24/7.

This bike is a 2007 Breva V1100, 65,150 miles. Factory Aprilia hard bags with Guzzi liners. Factory accessory windscreen; the dots are Laminar Lip mounts. I have the Lip (previous owner accessories, all) but was much happier with the screen with it off.

Kaoko throttle lock. Aprilia Mana 850 handlebar/Aprilia mirrors (great mod, also have standard cast ’bars). Startus Interruptus kit, starts every time. All metal fuel filter from MG Cycle (if memory serves). Givi trunk mount, a rather weathered example of same. Runs great; uses some oil between changes. To keep engine at around the 1/2 full mark on dipstick I just monitor and add a bit as needed. Red Line 10W60/Bosch 3330 filter… your oil and filter may vary. New fuel injectors a couple years ago.

Metal-core valve cover gaskets from MG Cycle after failure of two stock gaskets. So far, so good.

Michelin Pilot Road 4 rear/Pilot Road 2 front, both good condition. I think the rear is the newer of the two.

All work other than oil changes and some valve adjustments performed by The Motocycle Shop of Watertown, SD. They know their stuff.

I am no mechanic but have cared for the bike to the best of my ability, greatly aided by the pros mentioned above.

Better draw line through Illinois about Mt. Vernon or Olney the home of White Squirrels. The further south you go it does nothing but get better. Including rattle snakes and 3 Cyprus swamps and the Shawnee National Forest which is the eastern part of the Ozark's.https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/illinois/illinois-ozarks-il/
Great biking and camping and hiking county. Totally opposite of central and northern Il.

If they've never been done it'll almost certainly need swingarm bearings and maybe a shock linkage. I'll bung in a pair of swingarm bearings for nix if required. Might have a decent second hand linkage around too if I have a scratch about.

Mike? I'll PP you some cash in the next day or two. :thumb:

If someone near this bike could get down on all fours and have a good squizz at the shock linkage this would help. If the sides of the linkage, especially around the three bearing races, are all scuffed up its junk. If the bike has a centrestand get it on that and then grab the back wheel and lift! There will always be a small amount of movement due to the length of the swingarm multiplying the clearances in the bearings but if it goes 'Clonk-Clonk!' then the bearings, at least some of them, are toast. Don't forget to check the ones at the front of the 'Wishbone' as well.

Take some pics if you like, or can, and post 'em up or send them to me and I can probably tell you if it's likely to be recoverable or not.

Pete , at a minimum once the bike gets to Gliderjohn's place we can get some pictures . The bike has been well maintained , so we may not have an issue . Even if it does need some work , the price is right , and while I never thought it would be necessary to learn about CARC bikes , this might be fun . Plus , fubar and MotoChuck250 will do the hard work
