For several years now I have gotten mine off the internet and got my mechanic to mount them for 25 bucks. I’ve saved a bundle over the years.

Have done pretty well with Bike Bandit. Amazon works too esp. if you're a Prime member.

I like Motosport.com. They seem to have the odd sizes I need. Very quick free shipping.

I get mine through my local Honda/Kaw dealer. The prices are bit higher than the net but charges $25 a tire mounted and balanced plus they are good people that deserve to be supported.

I like your approach and wish there was a dealer closer to me to support. I guess a 45 min ride isn't too bad but since I still do my own tires it's easier to get them dropped at the door.

No preference, usually who has the tire and size I need (which can be a pain), but Chaparral, Motosport, Bike Bandit, Dennis Kirk, and Revzilla  come to mind. Haven't tried Amazon yet, but I wouldn't doubt that many of the tires found on Amazon are sourced through the major retail suppliers we all know. I've used a local dealer and installer a couple times too. My local Guzzi shop wanted $500 for tires, mount and balance on my Griso last year (road Smart3) and $250 to mount and balance tires if I brought the tires and rims to them..... Yeah....... NO

My 2¢...

I've been getting my tires from Revzilla, Cyclegear, Dennis Kirk, Motosport, Bike Bandit, etc. over the years.  The last pair I bought in January was from Western Powersports, they were shipped to the house.  What I thought was unusual about this purchase was that one of the tires was from WPS and the other was from JP Cycle.  And, they arrived separately, on different days.  So, I wonder if several of these retailers work with each other as far as selling tires.  Something else I noticed with this particular pair of tires I bought was that the internet pricing was exactly the same from retailer to retailer.

Also, it seemed to me that years ago I could buy a new mc tire that had a production date indicating it was 3-6 months old.  In the last few years it seems normal to get one that is 8-15 months old.

If y have a local dealer or independent motorcycle  use them!   If folks don’t support local shops there aren’t going to be any.  Remember 25 years ago, how many more shops were there than today?

I'd love to, and if I were closer to the dealer in Richmond or Maryland (2 and 3 hours) I would, but my local dealer is just ridiculous, overpriced, underskilled, and a mess. I do have a good multibrand powersports dealer I will go to for accessories and parts for my Yamaha's. The shop I use for my tire installs prefers you order and bring your tires/tubes.

I kinda do this. The independent shop I use is an hour away. He doesn’t stock tires. He does installation. There is a local shop, but they’ve screwed me over twice and a friend once. Tbh if they go out of business it’s their just desserts. Shame bc I really believe in supporting local and small businesses with my wallet.

I buy tires from chapmoto or motosport.

This. I'm surprised there weren't more people chiming in on AMT. They are my go to source.

I assumed (incorrectly) that this was the recent same thread on the subject that I replied to previously. American Motorcycle Tire is my go to source as well. Just bought a bunch of tires and tubes from them last week. Tubes took three days to arrive but the tires were here in two. All had date codes in the 10/21 range.

I have been buying my tires from the local Honda dealer.

If you go to the parts guy with a quote from the internet eg Pete's Superbike or Fortnine, he will match their price.
The savings are substantial - I paid $350 for a set of Avon Spirit ST tires for my T120 - their list was almost $600.

He quoted me $50 per tire to mount/balance.  They will NOT mount tires that they do not sell.

I have always had good service and shipping from Dennis Kirk. I can count on them. Then I have a buddy with a REAL tire machine that will mount them for $20.00, a sincere thank you and a sixer  :thumb:

Since I don't mount my own tires, I have two local shops that I use to order & mount my tires.  I'll either ride the bike or drop off a wheel at the shop and get it done quick.

I won't save a cent ordering from the internet.  They always get me a deal.  They know anyone can order from the internet so there's no point trying to gouge a good customer.   (I just checked AMT and not a enough difference to matter, if I didn't pay less on my last tire.)
