M. Marreli coil ferrule
« on: November 15, 2019, 07:29:48 PM »
I was working on the G5 today and while tightening the plastic ferrule and olive to hold my new plug wire firmly in the coil, the ferrule shattered. I thought I might have a spare one around here but apparently not. Does anyone on the list have an old spare sitting around somewhere they could pop in an envelope and mail to me. I'll pay postage and a few bucks if you want. Its cheaper for me to do this than to buy a whole new coil. I don't see where I can buy just a new ferule without having to buy the whole shebang.
Thanks
John D.

John,  If you have an Ace or True Value close by , try their small parts section for lamp parts or automotive drawers for an interchangable part.

Do you mean the "nut"? When facing the same dilemma a few years ago, I bought an NGK plug wire splicer. The "nuts" from that screwed right onto the o.e. V7 Sport coil. If you can't find a splicer or don't want to buy one, I *think* I still have one nut left. If I scrounge around enough, I might even find an original.

I need to find one of those, too.  One of the Marelli coils in my parts stash is missing the "nut."

Don't need it immediately, however.

What is the NGK number?

Thanks Charlie, I'll head down to the FLAPS later today and see if they have one. That sure looks like the solution.

Of course you will Charlie. You have the "milk of human kindness by the quart in every vein"! Over the years, I have seen you, and a few others on this board, send bits and bobs for no charge to Guzzi people all over the country. Many thanks for the offer. I have ordered one from Lordco here in town, it should be here Monday.
Again, thanks
JD
