Yes and no, the one for sale is a big valve engine with a different clock holder and a black frame.

I don't see anything in the ad about buy it now, much less free waffles. Where do you see that? And what's the buy it now?

The poor thing has had the cafe treatment - it's got holes through the middle. But that can all be fixed.

Good luck finding the side covers if he doesn't have them.

For all intents and purposes the side covers are as in LM1 and LM2/CX100.

Viewing the photos... he has a single throttle cable throttle... and a rotating arrangement on the frame that splits to two cables.

He uses a T3 instrument holder arrangement with idiot lights.

Also, again, that oil addition port / plug on the LHS cylinder (valve cover).  That MAY HAVE a dipstick into the sump.  He has an oil temp indicator on the normal sump-port.

Always interesting to see this stuff...

I don't think it possible to runs dipstick from the rocker cover into the sump, there's no pathway for that.

That's what I would think.

I got to looking at the photos and there are a lot of interesting mods. The throttles are one. Did you notice he got rid of the clip-ons? The side covers are shown in the last photo.

Fair enough...   This is the first square-bbl Guzzi that I've seen with this mod.  It would be a strange mod, cuz you have to take out the oil-temp gauge / dipstick in order to check the oil, then... then use the valve cover opening to add oil... wait a bit, then check down below, again.  The only good thing re the filler on the valve cover is that you do not have to use a funnel to add oil.  I suppose that is a benefit.

The early models came with those clock holders and the original side covers are included as he shows them in one of the photos

Those look like 40mm carbs and this bike has a distributor, the world engines had the Digiplex ignitions.

1990 would've come with Dual Points, 40 mm carbs, B10 Cam, Big valves and higher compression pistons from LeMans 1000.

In the US that was certainly the case, and I was down at Moto America every weekend when these were first imported. In fact I rode the first one ever brought into the US.

This being a Euro 1000S however, those bikes may have been different than the US models.

Here is my friend, Mark, and his wife on the first 1000S imported into the US.

Note the 40mm carb in this closeup.

They continue to look like T3's to me.

That is a clever throttle arrangement. I checked my T3's frame just now, and the shaft is going through existing holes in the frame gussets, with added bushings on little plates. It's all more than I could see doing right now, but maybe if I retired.... That arrangement would support another control wire from an electronic cruise control, by adding a fourth pulley on the left-hand side. Would be interesting to do.

I would have bought the orange one if the frame was orange too.   I ended up with greenies instead.  Helps with having one registered.   :azn:
