BMW oil
slowmover:
2013 V7 .Is this ok to top off when low ? I’ve got Motul 7100 in now
Michael_A:
Its an API SN rated, low SAPS engine oil, synthetic, made by Shell (very similar to their Helix product line, and may be the same aside from viscosity)for BMW. Pretty heavily biased to protecting emissions systems rather than ultimate thermal protection, so in that regards your Motul 7100 is probably a better primary fill. Since we don't have to worry about wet clutch compatibility it should be fine for a top-up.
Vagrant:
It might cause your cylinders to droop. Worse yet you might have to go to an authorized BMW dealer to install it.
guzzisteve:
Liqui Moly is what most BMW folks use. It is what we used at 2 shops I worked at, along with whatever Guzzi suggested (Agip at the time).
RinkRat II:
In the words of Pete Roper "oil is good, use it"
