Looking for suggestions in draing the fuel tank on 2000 Jackal without making a mess if possible. Riding it untill empty is not an option. Just need to remove the tank but would rather do it when empty or just a little bit of fuel in it.

I use the cheap plastic siphon rigs they sell for kerosene heaters. Most hardware stores will have them. Their intake tube fits nicely into small tank openings and they have a squeeze bulb to start the siphon, or you can just keep on squeezing and pump out everything. Last one I bought was around twelve bucks.

Run a line from the petcock to a gas can. Open the petcock and let the tank drain.
If you still have an electric petcock, turning the key to the on position will open it...

I use the kero siphon to get the bulk of the fuel out and then drain the remaining from the petcock.
