tach faceplate restoration
« on: June 26, 2019, 07:35:44 PM »
Could anyone direct me to a source for either a replacement faceplate on a Veglia tach or someone who can restore the one I have (beyond cleaning....marking s/numbers fade)??  Subject bike is a '99 Bassa...chrome bezel, white face.  Surprisingly, the old thing is still operational....just cosmetically needs freshening up a bit.  Thx...Marc

I sent my 1000S Veglia clocks to Palo Alto,  Hartmut did a fine job!  http://www.paspeedo.com/index.htm

After reading old postings on this general subject (Veglia restoration), I was under the impression that Palo Alto was no longer doing repairs on Veglias, but....perhaps for something as limited as restoring the faceplate, they will be a player.  I'll contact them and see what we can do.
I know from previous dealings with them on VDO stuff several years, they did a very good job.  Thanks for the info.

You might try here: http://www.reproductiondecals.com/default_frameset.html?content.html~main.
They have since changed hands but when I was redoing my H2C, they did mine for free since they didn't have decals for that model yet.
You'll have to take them apart yourself.

White or black faced Veglia?

I have a box of miscellaneous white faced tachs and speedos that are dead for parts. Let me know and i'll check condition of the faces

Checked with both Palo Alto and Joel Levine....neither offered any help.  Attached is a photo of the faceplate I need restored or replaced.  Thanks for your continued input.

P.S. the chrome bezel diameter is abt. 88mm (3.5 inches) and the tach itself abt. 80 mm (abt. 3.125 inches).
