What rack/luggage is this?
« on: October 28, 2021, 06:08:17 AM »
I got a new to me 2003 Cali Stone last week and I’m in the process of pulling all the Harleyfied junk off it like the ridiculously loud slash pipes that had it running poorly, the forward controls, etc.  Owner also had a set of seemingly unbranded luggage that does have on the inside “American Made” but I can’t tell what brand - and I don’t much care as I don’t have intention of keeping it.  This being said, it is curious, I’ve owned a bunch of 1100 Geese over these last 18 years and I’ve never encountered this kind of rack though it seems made specifically for the bike, had to have been.  The rack itself is seemingly well made and similar in structure, metal, and connections to HBecker stuff, but it’s not HB.  To my knowledge it’s not Givi either nor any other brand that I have ever found or seen for Guzzis. Any ideas?  This includes a pic of one of the boxes though I don’t really think the boxes and the rack were necessarily made for one another.

National Cycle is correct and the hardware to mount them was discontinued early on.  I had to modify hardware that fit another bike to make them fit.  I still have them and think they work pretty well.  They follow the lines of bike pretty well.

when i first got the Jackal 7 years back, I went in search of this set-up. i'd seen it and liked it. Found out it was National Cycle, and lived up the road, so I visited. Those mounts were unobtanium. The bags match the profile pretty well. Particularly if color keyed.

Never asked anyone who actually owned them....how do you like them? they seem narrow.

So are you gonna sell the Harleyfied stuff...?   These National Cycles cases, not the slash cut mufflers.

You guys who posted pictures, those are nice.  The ones I have here, the reason I’m not keeping them is because they actually look like they functioned more as crash bars.

And now that you've told him they are unobtainium, the price just went up!  :thumb: :boozing:
