 At 30 years of age I would have jumped at the chance , at almost 67 I'll just watch someone else ride this thing .

 These mono-wheels have been around since 1927 , the design hasn't really changed much .

I wonder what happens when you brake hard??? I can just see the rider spinning around the big wheel.  :evil:

 Unfortunately for the purpose of humor , no , the rider just stays at the bottom , same as during acceleration . I know , really disappointing  :grin:

I would have to think that it would limit acceleration and braking. Some kind of sensor that limits engine/braking power when some degree of rotation is reached??? Maybe someone with the physics/engineering knowledge can give some input.

I met the guys who later broke the speed record for a monowheel at an engineering show at Lincoln Cathedral a few years ago and asked them the same question. Yes, if you try to decelerate too hard, you'll spin around with the wheel. They called it "hamster wheeling" and it isn't good.
