Good 'ol boy music tonight
« on: May 07, 2015, 08:48:55 PM »
Took a ride an hour before sundown on the super Lario tonight.  What a peaceful evening.  As I'm motoring down the two lane there's a pickup with three good 'ol boys with the windows down checkin' things out pretty closely.  They stay at my side so I look over to the passenger with his thumbs up signal; I give the nod in appreciation.  They hopped on the gas for a second, then pull out front and slowed down.  I took that as a signal.  So... went out around the car in front and pulled up along side again as they slowed back down.  So I'm in top gear at around 60mph and gave them the Bubs music they wanted to hear.  The bike took off like a bat out of hell and I can only imagine what they thought of this odd motorcycle called Moto Guzzi.  I'm certain they liked the concert.   ;)
One of those cool moments.

Two lanes going the same direction. I didn't consider it a game. They wanted a little concert that's all. All was safe; very few cars on the road. They weren't looking to race as they didn't touch their pedal.

Until the not so good moment. I hope it`s not a loved one of yours who is involved in the that moment.

Gents, I should have said highway. It eventually turns into a 2- lane as you know it miles from where I was. No risks taken, just good understood fun.

No need to explain.  There only seems to be one person who has a problem with what you did.

I did a little bit, but I'm in "accentuate the positive" mode this week, so didn't mention it .... !   ;-T

Oh good grief. We are a sensitive bunch to think hitting upwards of 75-80 in 60-70 zone is dastardly on a straight backroad highway with no traffic and nobody out front.  I was even in the right hand lane. :P

Actually, it's louder than normal pipes that I object to (now that the subject has been opened for discussion by the OP   ;-T  ).   If pipes are loud enough to excite locals in pickup trucks, they're probably loud enough to annoy lots of other people.   I've just never seen the point of drawing attention to myself on my bike with the noise it makes.

If people react to me at all on my bike, it's usually a kid or group of kids making violent throttle-twisting motions, or pantomiming a wheelie.   Unfortunately, that's what most people think about motorcycles - machines for doing stunt-type riding or making lots of noise.

Sometimes I feel like taking off my skull mask and grabbing my Get-Back Whip from the handlebar and showing them what's what ....  :D

Lannis, lots of assumptions being tossed about. My Bubs have silencers (reducers) at the rear that I put in.  Hey, I'll except hooligan status; it makes me feel younger.  ;-T

I'm sure I'd love riding that bike, AND being seen on it.   I guess I just have a bee in my bonnet about "loud" pipes .....  :wife:     ;-T
