DIY Exhaust Ceramic Coating
« on: October 06, 2022, 02:06:24 PM »
Hello Folks, I am looking for some DIY product, to do the exhaust on my Convert, and ran into this DIY, spray on ceramic coating that does not require oven baking. After watching a few you tube videos, of guys applying to car headers , I am tempted to order on of their Pints ,and give it a shot.
Any opinions, or experience with this product?
Rick

How bad are your headers? If you like the look, then give it a shot. There won't be any performance benefits ( there is evidently no real performance benefit to baked on ceramic coatings either. ) I have a lightly used tonti exhaust and headpipe that I took off of my 850T is you need something shiny.

Hey Turin, thats a gorgeous bike!  Actually, what I am interested in coating is the old, aftermarket mufflers on my convert. They were made by a company called "alphabet's headers" back in the 70's. They are nice mufflers , but originally chrome, and someone  rattle can painted them black.you can see them in the photo, they are slash cuts, and made for the Guzzi, as they have a centerstand stop in the correct place. My head pipes are chrome, and in fair condition.
Are those aftermarket mufflers on your "T"?
Rick.

They make 2 or 3 different shades of black.  A satin black would be nice.
