Mivv muffler supplier
« on: November 20, 2021, 05:39:23 PM »
I’m currently changing my muffler (again) on the ‘85.
It’s this one.

They are not readily available here in Oz.
There are distributors in every country in the world and most small island nations, but not us....
Can anyone enlighten me on their availability in the Northern Hemisphere ?

I can supply relevant measurements if anyone could source one and I will (more than) reimburse them.
Thanks in anticipation...
Huzo.

Aliexpress has some. Not sure if they are genuine or the one you want. But the price is right. ;)

Huzo I have a Mivv on my Griso. There are a couple of dealers on the east coast but for the life of me I can't remember who. Been asleep since then. Bought mine from Italy but will have to go searching for info.

Thanks Stubster.
I’ve shot an enquiry off to that mob. The one I want is 300 mm long like in the shot, so we’ll see what can be done.
The replies here so far have gotten me a long way forward, so thanks guys.

Is it the GP silencer like

this one Huzzo? They are available in the UK for a little over £250 plus shipping. The biggest problem is shipping it to Oz will be very expensive. I have shipped domestic lighting there and have some idea of the cost. Probably £150+.

Edit: They have a distributor in Singapore which may be better for you as shipping will be greatly reduced. Pop them an email and ask: sales@mivv-asia.com

That’s the bugger Sye.
Does it have a code number or it’s own dedicated identifying numbers ?
That’s pricey, but I might do it.
Thanx mate and to all the others.

OK, I've done a bit of digging and found a pdf doc for the GP silencer. It seems that it is a 'Universal fit' but you also need additional accessory parts to mount it. The silencer is sided left or right, so be careful which sku you use. This is an image of a page from the pdf that contains the information you need.

Thanks so much Sye.
I’ve sent an enquiry off to Singapore, so thanks to you and the other guys, I now have enough info to nominate what I need.
Absolutely priceless assistance, thank you.
Peter.

I’ve procured a suitable stainless mandrel bend and have gotten up to here.

The next thing is to TIG the link pipe into the Y pipe under the engine and work on the side and centre stands, so they work.
The muffler in the shot is borrowed, but mine is on the way and identical.
