I never have figured out what those things were for.

Even when I were a lad, "old guys" were as proud as a peacock if they had bored a hole in their taillight lenses and clipped a "blue dot" in there.   They'd even add it in as a "look at THIS" in their ad when they sold the car (along with a "Genuine LeBaron-Bonney Interior").

What do they do?  I'll bet a cop with a rule book would tell you what you WON'T do with them, and that's ride by him on HIS beat again ... !

It's now legal in Illinois. They passed it last year. Heck,  I'm not sure what they do either, but I like it. 😎

Ran a blue dot for years on different Triumphs , never got hassled by the man . Still think they are cool . They don't have to do anything , but the visual effects can get a drivers attention .

Sorry Dusty - Did a search for the source but its been a year or two since I copied that pic and I forgot where it came from.

The 'Flying Eye' light looks like a prop for a Harry Potter movie.

I save pics with interesting designs .....

You're not going to get a tail light tattoo with a blue dot in the middle are you? If you put it on the back of your head, it will be easier to find you in a crowd in the dark............... ............. from behind............. ................... .... with a flashlight.

I'm familiar with the blue dots on hotrod cars, not on bikes.

But it's an interesting look, especially on something vintage, vintage looking, like a V7 Classic.
