 Bill , I had never read the books , so it is all new . One of those things that seemed too childish when I was a kid . Now , entering my second childhood it somehow feels like a great discovery

 That is the character's name . I'm watching the latest version filmed starting in 2016 with Martin Sheen and Ella Ballentine .

 Edit , never realized so many versions have been done , some apparently were not very faithful to the books .

Yes it is the character's name (my PEI DNA requires that I know that) but the actress who became famous in the role took it as her stage name and had a nice career for a bit.

We always called our oldest son Anne Shirlee because he was so dramatic.

Son #2 was Forgetful Jones

Now the oldest son is a video journalist aka: cameraman, and the youngest is a computer engineer aka: software developer.

     Rode into PEI last year by myself and camped two nights at a provincial campground with a water view.  Rode the northern end of the island and was overwhelmed by the beauty. I left before I saw anymore because I really wanted to share it with someone. Went up in the cage with my wife this past September and saw more of the island and was still in love.
     If any of you get a chance I would highly recommend it. I went to Nova Scotia the year before and I think PEI is much nicer.
