MECUM Las Vegas April 28 ~ May 01
« on: April 22, 2021, 08:57:30 PM »
The Meucm Las Vegas auction is next week, looks like its a lot smaller than previous years, no big surprise there with -, browsing the current online catalogue there are only a couple Guzzi offered, Lot F1.3 a 1968 V700 and Lot S61 a 1951 Falcone Sport. There are a couple Laverda 750, a smattering of small discplacement Ducati, Mondial, Gilera etc. and a fair number of HD Aermacchis including a splendid Aermacchi 175cc Chimera, George Jetson's motorcycle. Maybe more will show up on the online catalogue before the sale starts.
I won't be going this year, hopefully 2022 will be banner year.
48 Guzzi Airone, 57 Guzzi Cardellino, 65 Benelli 200 sprite, 66 Aermacchi Sprint, 68 Gilera 106 SS, 72 Eldorado, 72 Benelli 180, 74 Guzzi 750S, 73 Laverda SF1, 74  Benelli 650S, 75 Ducati 860GT, 75 Moto Morini 3-1/2, 78 Moto Morinii 500

With a smaller auction, less people going, there might be some good deals to be had.

1957 Aermacchi Chimera (dream) - Lot S161

The Chimera looks like a styleized jet fighter, never caught on and was a big sales flop. Management sent the designers back to the drawing board and they stripped off the futuristic body work and installed a conventional rear swing arm and dual shocks and voila they transformed the Chimera into the Ala Verde! Same basic chassis and engine but looked compeletely different.

This is similar to the one in the Auction next week

I missed Lot F78- 2004 Moto Guzzi Coppa Italia, looks nice!
