Am I Hallucinating?

Does removing certain bushings like this really work? Never seen it done like this before...not that I'm any fantastic wrench...

  If you don't mind gibbering up the surface of the outer part, Okay.  If as he says you are willing to replace the goobers up part, okay it works.  Just remember that it will goober up the part and probably break a couple of drill bits.
 You will notice that the drill bit only removed rubber and particles of metal from the metal ring.

   I have done a lot of suspension work on Jeeps and trucks.....And removed bushings using all sorts of wrong tools...Then you buy a hydraulic press and do it the easy way...The drill is interesting unless it removes enough material from the control arm to compromise the bushing press fit...The link mentions it's a Jeep control arm, and that looks like one of the four arms on the front of Jeeps using a solid axle and coil springs like the older Cherokee XJ's...New control arms including the pressed in bushing are $20 each....
