Personally I'm not a fan of the "new improved" jump.

The new jump is more like the original old jump; it's been changed several times over the years.  The idea is to keep today's twins (with 50% more power than the last time the twins ran this track) from jumping right into the creek.  If that were to happen, that would be the end of the Peoria TT on the national circuit.

I wish there were a way to make the track twice as wide as it is.  But, the bowl that it sits in pretty much limits what can be done, without a great deal of effort that would ruin the attraction of the place to many people who love it.

So, it remains what it is: nice people, great organization, great food, great heritage, horrible track.

Stevie Bonsey has had really bad luck this season, but he should be healthy for Springfield on the Ducati 821.  Just on principle, I'd hate to see 1 - 18 all riding Indian.

I'd love to see the Duc run with those Indians. Or anything else as far as that goes.

maybe we'll see an Aprilia Dorsoduro next year?

I'm told it's possible.  Don't know if it's likely.  I wouldn't put any money on it.  But it's been discussed.

It's not listed in the 2018 rulebook as approved, but who knows?  These things have been shown to be flexible.  The expectation is that any changes in the rules for 2019 will be towards a 750cc limit and I don't know that Aprilia makes a 750 version of the Dorsoduro these days, do they?

Nope, it's a 900.  Like I said, I wouldn't put money on it.

I got tickets for Minnesota Mile at the end of the month. I don't know if that will be a big deal but if the race is not the greatest we could maybe find something else fun around Shakopee.

Helava race, Mees, Carver, Smith, Bauman dicing it up the whole race, Smith dives out for a blast to win.

Lots of good racing going on, Bauman blasted right into Wiles knocking him out for the win. More of the same in ea race.

If it wasn't for Mees, Carver would be a star this year.  Not the most consistent but always in the fight.  Looks great in Semis!  And I actually like him as a human being.

Rolled into home about 5:00. Was dry all the way home until just West of Lake arcadia, about 5 miles from home. Then had a proper down pour the rest of the way in! I had stopped at Seaba Station to check the radar and got everything ready for rain except it was too hot for the rain gear. Got some of those bugs washed off.

Had another great time and 1300 miles!

Other than the last few miles, the weather was perfect. The company was good with lots of laughs and smiles, and the beer was cold.  The racing was pretty good also. The top four kind of checked out early, but all the way to the last lap the feeling was anyone of the four had a shot at winning. Pretty exciting.

Looking forward to next year.

If victory went to the prettiest...
But, it doesn't, and never does.  It was a tough day for the non-Indians.

Those Ducs are soooo pretty.  They'd probably be just as competitive if it was a factory effort.  I heard the Duc has a mix of parts and electronics to trick the engine into working.  Amazing!

I thought I would check in with you all.  I am kicked back on the balcony with a clear view of the Austrian Alps.  Ernberg. I've got the Dead & Co playing on the speaker.  A great leftover lunch, sandwich, some dried sausage that makes a beefstick look like garbage, some great red wine I bought at their Aldi (5.99 E), and a Partagas cigar.  Like they say, it don't get any better.

The tour has been walking our asses off.  This afternoon was the only rest day and tomorrow is Venice.  Went to the local pool after seeing King Ludwig's castle.  I was the king of the Luge riders, much better than any rollercoaster, you actually have lean and brake it. The group was saying that my Guzzi sized body gave me an advantage with extra initeria.  Told them "not true, If you have to brake, you ain't using the inertia God gave ya."

Saw my first Guzzi at Ludwig's today, Stevlio.  The Dutch, tightwads, seem to like 20 year old sport bikes, kept like we keep ours (rain and no garages?).  The Germans ride anything but there are plenty of Panzer Beemers and a few Mulitstardas in the mix.

Internet is spotty, time is shorter.  My cell phone is only good an MP3 player, the most important thing.

Time to pack and to think about a late meal or beer. But the wine has left me stationary.....

Give the Guzzi community my best

I thought the Minnesota mile was a decent race even if it was mostly a Polaris Ind. party. Having Other brands salted in the twin final was a plus. My dear wife was a good sport enduring the invigorating 40 degree  evening. We even looked at a California 1400 Touring in Eden Prairie earlier but no demo ride. Hope some of you were among the 5000 who were there.

First they did it cuz of rain, then cuz of #s.  Hope it doesn't become the norm.

...along with everybody else.  As a provisional card can't be used to put a rider into the main, the event is one-and-done no matter what trivial thing happens.
