Really?  What ball was dropped? ...........

The colors they chose and the high price for what you're getting. $4000 more than the Royal Enfield INT 650.

In the back of my alleged mind there are always (since the mid 40's 'til today), folks touring  the world on 90cc's., - often 2up w/ a great amount of luggage + spares.
Except for several ferry projects and 4 of my own over 800cc's a modern 650 twin is way more than adequate to go most anywhere.
I never expected those many Italian's in the garage/basement to give me the reliability I could get from an SV650S ands less so w/modern bmw's. 2 LM's and the Daytona changed my mind. Having a V7iii has sealed the deal. Despite the fancy electronic Goble de Gook it is very convincing. No BBG's, but if the body holds up I'll try back to back 400 mi. days, - once the weather breaks.

Charlie: Might you also know Tom Rohrer?
Chuck: Known Greg quite sometime, but strictly through emails; sometimes chiding about his parochial look @ non-German mc's.  R3~

Black and brown never go well together.  Add the third color, whatever it is, and OMG, it's ugly.
YMMV, and of course it should.  I agree 100% good bones.  PLEASE, hire an outside color consultant.

I'm sure the W800 is a fine motorcycle, as was the W650 before it. However, the W650 was released about the same time as the Triumph Bonneville and ended up a sales flop. So now Kawasaki decides to try again, but this time against even tougher competition (Bonneville is better than ever, release of the Royal Enfield 650s) and then handicaps it with questionable esthetics and high price (although, the W650 was $6499 in 2000, adjusted for inflation it would be $9488 in 2019).

W800s will likely sit on dealer's floors for long periods of time, Kawasaki will probably wonder why sales are so slow and quietly pull it from the US line-up. Deja vu all over again.

Would really like to see those new RE 650 INT in person. :thumb:

However, all things considered, this 2019 Triumph Bonneville Black would be very nice to have in one's stable...

Hoping to see the RE 650s this weekend, if not then I'll wait until they arrive at the dealers. None of the Bonnevilles interest me at all.

The Triumphs are nice and get why people like them.  For me, I find the RE far more interesting.  The RE fits my definition of what a real motorcycle should be.   I'm just not a fan of liquid cooling no matter how well it's hidden.

OK, fair enough...  GO-AZ, a "huge" dealership in the Scottsdale Airpark just bought the former Indian / RE dealer and they have these 650 INT's now listed on their website.  They look pretty good and I like the different color schemes! :thumb:

I have put money down on an INT650 in black. Saw one at the Minneapolis show last weekend, looks to be a very nice bike for the money. Kinda excited to own a motorcycle that I won’t have to pay for previous owners sins.

RE’s been modernizing for years but that doesn’t mean they hold extreme tolerance use top of the line materials/metallurgy  or have an award winning quality control.

I’ve had expired few with RE’s made in these new facilities. Yes the quality is better that the pre UCE stuff but it’s not 1st rate manufacture buy a long shot.

:thumb:   that is reality , some see shine b4 anything else .............Price is certainly reasonable the bike looks great... but what about down the road, for now i think its a crap shoot... and if i was in the market for a vertical twin 650 plus ... i would look hard at the bikes Triumph offers instead

My buddy had a '15 RE Bullet 500.

1) The delivery setup (dealer) was terrible, and they never seemed to get anything right, so he had to "sort it" himself.

2) Parts took forever to get

(starting to sound familiar/comparable to anyone's favourite quirky bike yet?)

3) He took it on ONE 2000 km ride, shook some parts loose, and said it was suepr uncomfortable at highway speeds.

I still want one. But I want it for our grid and backroads... I live in the perfect place for that dirt-road, sedate, cruising.

The old Brit repair shop by me used to sell them. His biggest complaint was dealer setup and that he covered a lot of warranty work because other dealers didn't spend the time setting up the bikes but that once they were setup correctly they were great. Sort of like a Guzzi. That said doubt I'll get one, but i really do like the look of the GT. The big Guzzi, Aprilia, BMW, Triumph dealer also has RE so I may skip the bike show and just head out there for a day.

Sounds like my 2013 Stelvio.  In my haste to get a quick ride in (soon after purchase),  I missed the fairing fasteners in my pre-ride check.  Almost lost the front end of the bike on the highway.
I fabricated my own Madstad Bracket on the fairing/windscreen to stop the nasty buffetting I was getting at highway speeds.
