Mark your calendar for April 24 it's the 21st annual Riding into History antique motorcycle concourse de elegance with grand marshal Wayne Corrini who btw is bringing a few of his collection hope to see you there I will be at the welcome table for participants maybe we can get together after the event for a short ride to get some dinner
-
I am there every year. Met the founder Billy Aldrich in Barber many years ago, went out to dinner with him and have remained in touch since. Great guy. I live local and it's a great show. I put in a few bikes last event just for an excuse to hang all day, LOL. Will put my Norton in again and maybe my Rosso Mandello, lol
-
Billy is a great guy I've had the privilege of helping him set his bikes on bricks there many times looking forward to this year's event I heard we have alot more participants showing up due to the cabin fever of the pandemonium pandemic
-
Yes a great event!! Hope to make it down. My most favorite time there was the breakfast ride years ago with Pete & Barb Egan. I always go to the Kings Head Pub to eat after the show. And how about the motorbikes Jack Wells brings!!!
Lets hope the motorbike gods give us great weather!! :thumb:
-
Going to the pub afterwards sounds like a good idea maybe we can arrange that
-
I usually go. All depends on the weather
-
Interesting, My 75' Norton wasn't accepted, but my Rosso Mandello was, LOL
Rich,
Congratulations! The following application to the April 24, 2021 Riding Into History Concours d'Elegance has been reviewed and accepted:
Application Entry#: 3739
Year: 2001
Motorcycle Make: Moto Guzzi
Model: Rosso Mandello limited edition
Color: Red
Class Assignment: European 1947 & Newer
You will receive a Parking Pass with additional instructions regarding check-in at the event via US Postal Service in early April. We thank you for supporting Riding Into History and K9's for Warriors.
-
I will pass this along to Bill Peterson the chairman tonight we are a volunteer group and not all are 100% up on everything its obviously a honest mistake but if they let you show it I welcome it as I believe all moto guzzis are special interest bikes due to low production numbers and should be eligible especially since they just hit 100
-
I just passed the information on btw tomorrow is the deadline to register I'm sure it will be corrected
-
See if you can call them tomorrow morning asap and tell them of the error. Btw why did you try to enter a bike under 35 years old? They probably punched a wrong key regarding the Norton good luck hope everything works out see you there

Very good hope it does well see you there
-
Thanks Tim, I just 'display' the bikes for people to see and it gives me a chance to hob knob all day, LOL!
-
This year I'm a greeter at front gate usually I wrangle the the bikes out of the trailers. I asked if I could put my bike in as filler for empty space in the field but this year we are expecting the largest number of bikes in years be sure to try and find me . This is my favorite event of the year
-
ah, will do! i have a 2018 Burgundy Dodge Ram 1500 pulling a silver and black trailer which my 75' Norton and Rosso Mandello will roll out of. Yeah, I thought that was the reason that my Norton might not be accepted, I guess I just made it in!

NOT to be missed!
St.Augustine area is so beautiful.
Riding out from north of Atlanta Fri morn, coming home Sun eve.
820+ miles roundtrip with perfect weather forecast(fingers crossed).
Supposed to be a massive turnout with Brit bikes the focus.
Maybe see some of you mugs there!? :thumb: :bike-037:
-
I spoke to Bill Peterson the chairman of the event yesterday and he said around 335 entries so this is one of the best turnout in years the weather is supposed to cooperate. I would still like to get together with the guzzi faithful afterwards to maybe do a dinner run
-
Looks like a great show. I already have prior commitment for this weekend, but maybe next year!

Kings Head Pub 6460 US-1. Go east out of the World Golf Resort entrance and then south a few miles on US-1, the pub is on the left. Brit tele- booth and double decker bus out front.
-
I would like to see if we can meet up there after the show maybe around 5PM
-
I can do that. I will be in my wifes white Nissan Frontier. Has a BSA plate on the front :thumb:
-
I've got a black calvin. If its raining we'll be in a silver jeep renegade
-
Awesome ride down to Florida from north of Atlanta, 400 miles of secondary roads to here. Staying 25 miles north of Event. Tomorrow is going to be one of the high points of the year!

The black Calvin is mine. It was an excellent turnout for the event the weather was excellent however due to 40 percent chance of rain 80 bikes never showed up which was disappointing. Can't wait till next year
-
Some more show bikes, AND ran into Guzzidad (member here)!

That wasn't my Norge Tazio. Mine is white. But I was parked right by his bike. And I left a note on it. I thought it was leaning too far on the side stand. A common problem on this model when the screws holding the side stand loosen. He E-mailed me thanking me and verified my concern. They were very loose.
-
Way to go Guzzidad! You strike me as the kind of gentleman to do something like that :thumb:
So nice to see you again at the event!
-
Nice to meet you Tim, after I loaded my bikes I was exhausted. Went home, my wife came home from a trip at the same time, we decided to order in, LOL. Next year I plan to treat myself and stay at the Renaissance for a few days..
