A source within the NFL tells wthr.com's Bob Kravitz that the league is investigating the possibility that the Patriots deflated footballs in their 45-7 win over the Colts Sunday night. The source told Kravitz that officials took a ball out of play at one point and weighed it. A deflated football could be easier to throw and catch in poor weather conditions than a properly inflated ball.Kravitz was told that if a league investigation confirms deflated footballs, it would result in lost draft picks for the Patriots. More to come on this story.
. . .and as in ALL playoff games, there is only the one ball. ::)They weighed it to check for deflation? ???Wouldn't checking the pressure make better sense? And how does deflating it give only one side an advantage? But kudos to the guy with 'philosophy' enough to blame a 45-7 loss on the ball. :winerPersonally I have no dog in the AFL fight. Their winner becomes Seahawks fodder. :food
I'm slow, I mean really slow. What am I missing. :BEER:Matt
RER -- your kid's a professional football roadie? ;-T . . . . and as far as fan support goes . . . . The UW seismology lab has recorded up to mag2.5 disturbances at the stadium during games. I'd guess it shook at least that hard on Sunday. That's some fracking good support, right there!
yeah...the balls might not have a made a difference. And the rules should be clear. But after the video cheating deal, I really can't abide by Bellicheck. I'm not a fan of the Carrol either but that is just animosity from losing to him in the college game when his team had to vacate their wins because the alums bought R Bush family a freaking house. So I am routing against them all. :wife:"if you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'"
