Flickering gauges
« on: January 21, 2015, 01:46:22 PM »
I have a 2001 California Special (Bassa) and the dash lights flicker and go out this has been happening for quite some time and is getting worst! If you pull on the  the gauges with your hand they come back on? any Ideas?
Carmine

Loose ground wire to lamp sockets.  Would be my first guess.

They have some tiny bulbs in the instrument housing that can be replaced with LEDs. The stock tiny bulbs and the way the sockets are built can be toublesome, I replaced the ones from my Aluminum with leds from Superbright LEDs. If I remember correctly, they were the type "74" bulbs. I think there was a thread here on replacing those,
Rick.
