A thought- today’s short ride
« on: January 13, 2022, 03:51:39 PM »
It’s Winter. The first real winter I have experienced in 18 years. I hate winter. I am an endless summer kind of guy.
Today the temps were 59degrees F (15 c for you good folks that live in non-men on the moon landing nations) and since the old Cali3 hadn’t been run since Christmas Day I took it for a brief 40 mile run. (That’s 64.3 klicks)
It a was nice ride, enjoyable and all to brief. The fuel was topped off with more non ethanol and the old Guzzilla will sit for a couple more weeks. Snow predicted here for Sunday. I hate winter. And we are moving in a week and a half. Our new place has a carport, which I will be enclosing, so my bike will be out of the weather.
Enough killing time here, now back to packing.
Be well.

I moved north (it's upside down here in Oz) 35 years ago, to get away from the cold winters.
Hope you and your bike find somewhere nice and warm in your travels  :thumb:

Ummm.
The guy that stopped your American made rocket engines from blowing up on the pad was German and was a sworn enemy a mere 20 years earlier.
You would not have been able to track Apollo had it not been for a small patch of grass 20 km out of Parkes in Australia.
The European Space Agency are currently reverse parking rockets on barges in the water.

Point is back in the 60’s, the voices we heard were hardcore American drawl, but the heavy lifting was done by PhD’s from all over the world...
Just sayin’...

You omitted super models with  alluring accents Huzo.  We have to import those from down under. If only Australia weren’t a very long plane ride away.

And ALL the slide-rule boys would STILL be standing around with stupid looks on their faces if it hadn't been for Katherine Johnson and her team...

It took that German engineer and Chrysler Corp to get our rocket program off the ground with the Redstone.

Thanks Tazio, I hope you are doing well. Looking forward to being able to go back to Suches. Always a good time. The weather here has turned wintery so no riding for a while
Saturday the 22nd We are loading the moving van, putting the bike on a trailer and moving to Decatur Alabama.
Why? Our family moved to Madison, just outside Huntsville, for better work so off we go.
 Be warm and well.

Freaking feels like N IL out there, glad I road the day before. Got to keep the bikes active, I hate cleaning carbs.
Keep Guzzilla warm & dry Clint.
