I made it back to Waldheim; safe and sound. The trip went pretty smooth. There was a great variety of roadkill to see. My favorite was the ten foot alligator that was in a heap on the roadside in central Louisiana.

My thanks go out to all the folks this attendee got to meet in Cedar Vale. Who knew that there could be such a diverse group of folks who could find so much in common. Special thanks to Dusty and the Cedar Valeans who so generously shared their time (and cooking expertise) with us. If you havent met any forum members, I recommend you attend one (or more) of the WildGuzzi get-togethers. Truly, you will find august company and a fun time.

Props to Dusty and all those who put together a great rally.  It was fun to put some faces to the names I've been seeing for several years.  A special shout out to RoadKill for the Guzzidiag seminar.  Dave, I don't know what you did but the EV has never run better on the ride back to Fort Worth. I still need to sync the TB's but most of the aggravating vibration was smoothed out.

You thought you might be running rich overall, so we trimmed the CO back from 0 to -5 just to see what happened.  Folks were asking the value of tweaking the CO on the open loop ECUs.  Sometimes the improvement from a simple tweak is all it takes, and it's a lot like changing the mix screw on a carburator -- if you don't like the result, you can just change it back.

Here we are at the only Guzzi dealer in northern AZ (Prescott) Jim Knaup's Powersports Outlet on White Spar.  On Saturday, Jim and crew put out the burgers / brats / hot dogs / buns / and all the condiments for us.  Well done Jim and THANK YOU!! :thumb:  :1:

Just a few notes on this year's WG National .

Attendance was down very slightly , although we did have some first time attendees , not only to the event , but also to any sort of Guzzi gathering . We did feed about 55 on Sat evening , and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves , so we are calling this a success .

The small village of Cedar Vale showed us wonderful hospitality once again . The early returns indicate we raised over $1,000. , and the store owners say we made their month (especially the liquor store )

As always , Dave , Rod , Wes , Rudy , Guzzistajohn , and Delrod performed their behind the scenes magic , and Prescott was masterful in his master of ceremonies duties .

Would like to recognize John Henry for being master-of-the-bathroom key . Next year we will place large signs on the bathroom doors reminding folks to turn the inside knob to the unlocked position before exiting the facilities

Our guy David in CV is working on adding bathrooms in the park , and also installing a hotwater tank over in the showers at the pool house . It just takes money .

Our visit to the City Council meeting was well received , at least so far none of the councilors have called us bad names

The guy who was driving the large Diesel truck commented that we were the most capable group of motorcycle riders he had ever encountered , you guys deserve to take a bow

We are already in the planning stages for next year , watch for the 2019 thread , we will be looking for suggestions about sights to see . Hard to actually visit every place worth seeing in the area in one year , despite what folks might think there are really quite a few interesting things to see and do in SE Kansas .

Had a chance to spend some quality time with Bill from Madison WI , and Matt from MN . What an interesting pair , met both before , but this year we had some free time together  :thumb:

Was great to see Cookie  :thumb:

Thanks everyone , we can't do this W/O you

Guzzista,I have no idea what Cow Bell is  Just got in from Cedar Vail, that was a long 280 mi,it felt more like 300.Other than being hung over all day Saturday that was a good time as usual. We made the front page of the local news paper with a good write up,tho we are generally refurred to as OLD GEEZERS I belive its remarkable that these old geezers came from four sides of Merica to converge on Cedar Vail thro every type weather.Thank you Dusty for puttin it all together,Diavel love your shrimp dude!!!See ya all next year :boozing:

Rolled the Cali into the garage last evening.  Long way home through SW Missouri and Arkansas.  Some great roads I had not been on before: 90 & 125 in Missouri and 123 in Arkansas.  Thanks to everyone for the recommendations,  and thanks for making my first Guzzi rally an enjoyable experience.

You rode 90?  At one point you were within 2 miles of my house.  It's a good ride for sure. :thumb:

Road King and I got home a little after 2. (He probably beat me by 1/2 hour.) Anyway, all in all, a good ride out and back. 33F and snowing when I left, and yesterday, we were stopped in the road for a crash up ahead, ton of road construction delays, a detour, and such a bumpy road that it was a PITA! But, other than the first day, good weather prevailed and our ride excluded large cities and Interstates. We stayed ahead of predicted rain that was trailing behind us and we had a real nice ride.

Many thinks to Twowings for a fantastic ride through a wind farm, two Native American Museums, Wolorock (sp) Museum.

WHAT A GREAT DAY!!!! :boozing:

So here we are again , time for another Wild Guzzi National in Cedar Vale KS . Seems like only yesterday we were all gathered in our home away from home , safely ensconced in Hewins Park enjoying the hospitality of the locals .

As always , there will be a couple of group rides , we visited Woolaroc in Bartlesville last year , and in past years have visited the motorbike museum in Augusta . Thinking this year we can do a local waterfall tour , with maybe a bit of history added in . Any suggestions .

As in previous years , we'll figure out Wed and Thur evening meals . Fri eve BBQ and Sat morn breakfast provided by the city for donations .
Sat evening will of course be the catfish and hushpuppie feast , covered in the rally fee .

The rally fee is $25.00 per person , $35.00 per couple . That will cover all of your camping fees and the catfish feed, the cutoff date for deposits is April 22 , gives me time to preorder the food and supplies , will start an attendee list shortly .

 Any more questions ?

Oh , we will have 2 more showers and toilets available at the poolhouse , about 300 feet from the pavilion .

So time to get out those checkbooks or money orders , you don't want to miss this one .

 Mail deposits to

 Dusty Turner
 PO Box 1223
 Muskogee OK 74401 .

yes on auction.

Personally, I think the T-shirts are more trouble than they are worth, so I'd be fine skipping the hassle.
