Title: 2015 Was another good year.
Post by: Texas Turnip on December 31, 2015, 07:21:55 AM
Made another national rally.
Finally made it to Sturgis. No, been to the big rally. I'm talking about Sturgis, Mississippi. Never saw a bike!
Philadelphia, Miss to see the Marty Stewart Museum and the town square.
Pottsville, TN to see Marci Jo's cafe.
Went thru the hometown of Tarter Ranch. Every place you look is another one of their buildings building farm equipment.
Got a bunch more roads to add to my million plus I already have.

On the non-Guzzi side.
Nothing got repossed this year.
Stopped three times for no seat belt. I weazeled out of a ticket.
Updated my solar dryer from a bob wire fence to poles with coated wire. NICE!
Only had two blow outs on truck and trailer tires this year. Used tires and recaps are getting better.
Cut back from five cigars to three a day. I switched to a 6x60 full.
Never had any utilities cut off this year.

Hope 2015 was a good year for y'all.
Tex

Tex,

Outstanding I would say!  Well done.

Hmm...some highlights for me:

--perfect dry fly cast into a pool of big brook trout at Lime Creek (San Juan County, CO), and a big un rose to the opportunity, we had a nice tussle, and after a picture, I let him go and he swam away
--interviewing my 94 year old mother and hearing her memories going back to the 1930s, and Durango in the 1950s and watching her truck around our cabin and pronouncing it "good"
--caught perfect October aspen tree display at our cabin, and first dusting of snow
--snagged my triple, enough said on the Triumph hot rod:  fun
--watched youngest daughter graduate, find an internship, thrive in NYC and now full time gig
--and I retired.

But Ken, don't the clothes just slip right off that coated wire?

With the barbed wire, the clothes don't slip off the line in a breeze!

Finally made it to Sturgis. No, been to the big rally. I'm talking about Sturgis, Mississippi. Never saw a bike!

Bench Mark Works, LLC (shop of BMW parts guy/restorer Craig Vechorik) is in Sturgis. I've been wanting to go there myself for a visit.

That guy Sturgis seems to have founded towns all over the place before the indians at the Little Bighorn came to
  an understanding with him.

One of my high points was stopping by the turnip patch a month or so ago! It was good hanging out with ya!

Rumor has it that Ken was upset over not receiving his local PBS station . Not being able to watch Downton Abbey was causing him to seem uncultured at his men's club
