Try finding a nice 1100 SportTwo weeks ago I drove 2,000 miles to fetch and bring back a 5,770 mile, one owner '97.There was a V11 for sale locally, a Le Mans I believe... don't think it sold.Back in the day I had trouble finding a buyer for my V11 Rosso Mandello
I'm guessing the Ballabio's and Caf Sport are very low in numbers in the US.
Yes. There are more Ballabios than Cafe Sports. But it's all relative.About 50 Cafe Sports were brought in in 2003 and again in 2004. You're looking for needles in haystacks. They're out there, and periodically they do come up for sale.Personally, I'd be looking for a Coppa Italia, if I was looking for a nice V11 Sport.
I know the Caf Sports are really scarce. I'd be happy with a Ballabio. Just would like a handlebar equipped V11 just to round out my fleet. A Coppa Italia would be great! But don't they have the single plate clutch?
As a recent inductee into the wonderful world of 2002-2004 V11's with my recent purchase of a nice all around rider of a 2002 LeMans and my perfect one owner, low miles (3175), unmolested 2003 LeMans that I was very fortunate to find. I'm really enjoying these bikes and now I'm wanting to round out my fleet with a 2004 Ballabio or Caf Sport.I found both my V11's via Craigslist. I searched near my home base and also looked outside my State as far as I was willing to go with a truck and trailer. That's how I found my '03 LeMans, had to drive almost 500 miles one way to get it.These bikes just don't turn up very often on for sale sites. I check eBay, Craigslist, Cycle Trader and the forum classifieds just about everyday. For a motorcycle that when they were new and sat on dealer floors ( my '03 sat on the floor two years according to PO) they sure are rare and hard to find now. Especially nice examples. I'm guessing the Ballabio's and Caf Sport are very low in numbers in the US. Well that's it...I'm off for a ride on a V11 before it gets too hot.
I need to clean my LeMans up if it's worth 5 grand.
I totally agree. If you enjoy riding these V11's, then a Sport 1100 is up your alley. I know you are looking for handle bars, but try riding a nice Sport. I think you'll be even more impressed.
There appears to be a Cafe Sport in Californiahttp://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/mcy/5127890761.html
If someone would give me the cash I'd run out and get these..http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/mcy/5130207800.htmlhttp://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/mcy/5128097996.htmljust a 1.5 hour drive from me.they have been for sale about a month.
Thanks for posting that foto! I am negotiating on that Lemans right now. Totally impulsive. Never owned a spine frame, but have considered several. This one looks fine.
I had a 2002 for about 20k it was my favorite of any Guzzi but my dog couldn't ride it.. I wish I could get it but have no cash to do the bidding. are you local? I'm near the airport if you fly in I can maybe pick you up.

Well, maybe getting ahead of myself but I have sent the seller an email saying I will buy it. Awaiting his reply. The catch might be that he said he had an imminent offer on the Sporti he also had for sale and was only going to sell one. If my (full price) offer is accepted, I have a new Guzzi! So, the shifter spring. Who has the parts?
