I've gone the way of Cycle Gear's Sedici gear.   Very happy so far.  I tried a couple different brand gloves from CG, and they all tore on the clutch side in about one season of riding.  Each time I took them back, they were replaced free of charge.  The last time I upgraded to the Sedici gloves and with the help of leather treatment, they're lasting a few seasons.

Yep, Sedici has a life time warranty.  I like their heat out gear and have bought a few of their doorbuster items.  Cycle Gear and Revzilla are now owned by the same parent company.

I have a Built leather jacket that has held up well. A zipper pull tab broke after at least 5 years, but that has happened to other jackets as well.

When it's time for a new one, I would try them again.

I have a pair of Built brand gloves that have lasted me a long while.  I have thrown  Alinpestars and Techinks gloves in the trash can from wearing out.

I agree with the Built is the low cost house brand but I don't agree that a big name is any better.

I'd say shop around.   :thumb:

I have some Sedici stuff as well.  I think they sell in other stores too.

I like Cycle Gear cuz they have stores in many smaller markets. Gives you the opportunity to touch, feel and look at the merchandise before you buy

The manager at my local Cycle Gear rides a well-used Honda Hawk. He also plays guitar and has young kids so we have a lot to talk about. I buy my tires there and have them mount and balance them.

I have bought lots of gear and several helmets from them. Last year I took a five year old flip front blue tooth BILT helmet back to get a broken flip latch replaced, the sales guy told me to pick out a new one, at the counter he looked up my information and told me it was six months past warranty but the helmet had a five year warranty (now only one year) and said 'it was close enough'. Then he lets me upgrade to the best BILT blue tooth helmet for $100.00. To top it off my wife's 5 year old helmet will not pair to the new blue tooth so for $100 they let her pick out their top of line new one.

If that isn't top notch service I don't know what is!!!!

My son's both have BILT coats and pants, 5th season with them, they still look good.

Boots only last about four seasons, but that is lots of ridging, about a third on gravel roads, seam opens up in the front but they were truly waterproof (well within reason) for at least three years.

On one of my trips the UBC Clear Intercom went nuts, drove into Atlanta store and free exchange.
On my second pair of Sedici Ultimo gloves, possibly the best gloves I've ever had.

You just need to pay attention what you buy, its relatively easy to spot jacket that's sewn together poorly or gloves that are crappy.
However Alpinestar Drystar Valparaiso gloves were NOT waterproof. Just saying.....

I like having the option of a Cycle Gear nearby.  I have some Bilt rain gear and a pair of their "kevlar reinforced" Ironworker jeans.  Haven't had to lay it down wearing any of this stuff, yet, so it is all holding up.  Great for trying to fit the boy with his always-changing offroad gear, and we usually buy it there.  I've also bought stands, chocks, chemicals, a few helmets and several pairs of gloves from them.

One of my favorite motorcycle sayings.

Translation:  "I grabbed too much brake and the bike slid out from under me, but I am going to say I did it on purpose to protect my fragile ego."  This usually goes along with "I don't need no damn ABS brakes!"  LOL!
