Is this where the line starts? If so, I'd like to be first inline for that wheel set if those are to ever come off the bike

Lady's …….. please no fighting  :thewife: There is always another one around the next corner. I hope 2dogs likes it as well (Chicago bike)..after having lunch with the owner of the G5 today he regrets making this decision but then again he's never owned a bike before. Believe me if I already didn't own a G5,,,, the first one I bought back 1990 and have since bought it back for the third time ,,,,, I'd own this one :boozing:

Oh, there's no fighting (at least from me).  I was really tempted to buy it, but, don't need or even want another motorcycle right now, so, I'm glad that 2dogs is getting it.

Well we left at 5:30 and just got back home 12:35. Tim was great and very helpful and has a beautiful place, we planned on 30 minutes to load and spent about 2 hrs talking to him, I brought home the bags also, no problems the whole trip. Time to unload  :boozing:

I do also have some regrets not grabbing that one myself! Looks like it's destined one way or another to a great home!

Here is another one that just popped up. No additional comments on my end other than there is a 1st Generation G5 under there and has been loved...

Groover,

The ebay G5 looks like it has potential.
Do you know if this would have the Nigasel lining on the bores?
Also, what would be an, "appropriate" muffler?
I am thinking la Franconia Competiziones, if available.

Either iron liners or Nigusil.

I'd probably buy Armour stainless mufflers:

^ that. It's my understanding that the 1st generation has the iron sleeves, then Nigusel on the later models (81 maybe) though not sure if there is a clean/cut way to tell when that change was, and even that is the case.

The OEM repros are also available now for the mufflers, though the SS set Charlie linked (which I've never seen until now) seem to be a nice original looking replacement option.

Charlie do you know if these mufflers are as silent has the stock item, or are they a bit louder?  Price seems reasonable, currency conversion considered.

No direct experience, but have been told they are slightly louder. FWIW, I like the stockers on my Convert and they are hardly "silent", just not "loud".

Here is a another one. No affiliation to the seller. Appears to be an authentic G5 I think, but a lot has been changed or possibly it was a police model (tail light type and painted fenders instead of bare stainless).

Just, WOW, I try to imagine the path in life of the owner(s) who would choose to NOT RIDE a bike like that for so many years. Just sitting there motionless. In So. Cal! Where there is VERY little reason to not ride because of the weather!

Certainly looks like a fun one to cleanup and lighten the load, Has the Lester wheels too which look really sharp on the black 1st generation models especially. Who knows the story, but that dust looks legit  :azn:

I won't argue with the legit dust.. it's been sitting for some time. Just the same, I've done my share of barn find Guzzis. I'd be very surprised if it only had 7K miles.
