*Chasing the Moon*,American Experience
« on: July 05, 2019, 06:26:43 AM »
This is a cool short film that chronicles the events that lead up to the historic Apollo 11 moon landing. The 50 year anniversary is coming up,I can remember ,(as I'm sure you can too) exactly where I was on that day,I was 12 years old .The whole world was glued to their tiny black and white TV screens,I'll never forget it, baby boomers, what amazing times we've lived through. :thumb:

I drove a friend's homebuilt hydroplane for the first time that day, and came home to a malfunctioning TV  for the landing. The picture was rolling a little, but I was there, too.  :thumb:

I was a member of a homebrew club that met at the Outpost Tavern near NASA in Houston.  One of the members, John, was on the mission control team for the moon landings.  He would just beam with pride every time he talked about being part of it.

Yeah, my friend Ed the Rocket Scientist does too.. He just can't understand why the kids that work for him think, "meh." I keep telling him the moon landings were just a footnote in their history books when they were in high school.

I was in my final year of primary school on a freezing cold day mid morning as I recall.
